Shoei Neotec 2 - Excursion TC6
Customer Product Reviews
Brilliant design upgraded my old multtitec which I was very happy with having given years of service and wary of changing in case it was not as good.I needn't have worried as the neotec 2 is even better.comfortable quiet good looking well made and feels like a quality item.expensive but worth every penny.best price at sportsbike shop and great service as usual with prompt delivery.recommended seller.very satisfied customer.
Quality proven in storm Ciara
Fantastic helmet superbly comfortable and quiet and light . Iv been contemplating buying it for a very long time to replace my AGV K3 sv (of which I have two that have both failed on the seal around the visor) but the price kept putting my off. Now I have bought it the quality, comfort and how quiet it is, more than covers the cost. With the AGV I wore ear plugs and could still hear the wind noise but the Neotec 2 Iv not had to wear ear plugs with it and that was riding in the high winds of storm Ciara . Next on the shopping list will be the Sena SRL 01 that integrates to the helmet and maybe find a reasonably priced tinted visor
1st Shoei... I love it, the design is absolutely superb. Didn't fit properly, however popping into Sportsbikeshop in Milton Keynes was an additional bonus. Had it personally fitted, thicker pads, serviced, shown how to put it... 1st class customer service from the guys in Milton Keynes. Thank you
Everything exudes quality, the flip action is positive but easy to use, the interior is the normal good long lasting fabrics from shoei, paintwork is lovely, the pinlock insert is included in the box. The fit is good for me as I struggle to get a helmet to fit, this one is a xxl and fits nicely. I have been riding over 40 years and this is probably the best helmet I have owned
I upgraded from Shoei's Multitec Helmet which I had for many years. This Neotec 2 feels more comfortable and higher quality. It's quiet and not much wind noise. Overall this is a great helmet, a little pricey but it will last years. My only criticisms would be the visor likes to auto close, I like to have it open (say a 1cm gap) a little bit during the day but it wants to either close or sit open (say 3cm)
I've never had a Shoei before as I've always been put off by the price, I have now seen the error in my ways!. It's very light and comfortable and is a quite as promised, I have a Caberg which I don't think will see the light of day!. Only thing that lets this helmet down is you have to have the Sena headset as there is no room for a Scala PackTalk. Added bonus of matching the colour scheme of my Speed Triple! As always delivered promptly with no issues.
Having upgraded from the Neotec 1 with Cardo Intercom. Great service from Sportsbikeshop, updated firmware on the SRL Integrated system so seamless changeover. Helmet camera Mount requires Locating in different position I use Contour Plus 2 but overall very impressed with the comfort and the Intercom is far superior than I expected. Peripheral vision is reduced but not enough to cause any concerns also the looking down vision is less however with the flip up Visor this also is no Problem. I must say I cant tell that it is any quieter than its predecessor. They are not cheap but I like to think you get what you pay for I Hope ! . To be honest I am not aiming to test it out ever
Best modular helmet
Previously had the Neotec 1 for 5 years then replaced with another helmet which didn't fit very well and developed a fault within 2 weeks. Went straight back to Shoei, don't think I will be going to any other helmet. Only small thing with this version in compared to neotec 1 is that the chin sticks out more so it's a bit so it is difficult to look down at the speedo, not that much of an issue just the minor problem.
Changed from a gt air to this for touring and commuting. Tight fitting initially, but after a few weeks is comfortable. Noise reduction is impressive as is the wind damping. Most noticeable us the large airflow via the front chin vent, it's like a gale, great for summer, less so for winter.
Excellent quality lid
Only my third helmet since coming back to biking in 2011, upgraded from a HJC IS 16. Had been looking at Shoei helmets for some time and originally wanted a GT Air, but found the shape of my head didn't suit this. OK so its a premium price but its a premium helmet, everything about it says quality, from the interior padding and the various mechanisms. Compared to the HJC IS 16 its about the same weight but is so much quieter when out on the open road. One minor criticism is the ventilation provided from the front vent is not as good as it could be. It keeps the visor clear but I often ride with the visor partially open.
So this is what a comfortable helmet feels like!
TL;DR Exceptionally comfortable. 5 stars for the helmet, reduced to 4 due to overpriced by £100 in my opinion. I bought this as a replacement for my Caberg Droid which I used for less than 5 rides and hated due to the noise and discomfort. This Shoei is incredibly comfortable and quieter than my other two modular helmets. No Modular will be as quiet as the quietest closed face helmet but this one is quiet enough and a more than acceptable trade for the convenience of a modular. Feature wise this lid has everything you need and the ventilation can actually be felt through your hair when riding. It really is a very good helmet that is better than any I have tried. There is no denying that this is an expensive helmet but it is noticeably better than my previous helmets (caberg duke and nolan 104). Im still torn on the price and if it is that much better but you only change your helmet every half a decade...
