Klim Badlands Pro Gore-Tex Textile Jacket - Grey
Customer Product Reviews
The best jacket
It's very comfortable to wear also being waterproof do to gorotex pro I definitely recommend, also stops the wind this way you don't need to wear many layers beneath. It has lots of vents good for the summer as well.
This is a huge amount of money for a jacket but I am so glad I went for it. It's heavy (very heavy!) but once it is on you don't notice the weight and it feels secure. I'm 6'5" with 36" waist and 43" chest which puts me border line between the L & XL. In the end I went for the L and the fit is spot on. With the kidney belt fastened it lifts the jacket slightly which improves the comfort and positioning of the armour. Most of the time I ride with a single base layer underneath but there is room for a second (and at a push a third) thermal layer as needed. The venting seems good but I haven't yet exposed it to full summer heat.
New to the Klim range and could not be happier!! Excellent quality all round and was a little surprised with the weight although it's not an issue when wearing. Very comfy and long at the back which is what I was after. Plenty of room and even had to send back for a smaller size. Previous jacket was a Wolf 3XL, had to go for 2XL in the Klim gear. No thermal liner as such in this jacket but was noticeably better in a ride out in March with zips closed. Any colder I would recommend going for layers. You get a handy little Medical/ID card you can send off for with it's own pocket. Plenty of room in the other multi pockets. Only gripes.. Sleeves on the long side but ok when riding so cancels itself out. If you have the longer gloves like myself, they can be a bit of a pain because there is no zip at the wrist to help get them on and if you put over the jacket, it can bunch a fair bit because of the sleeve length.. Would defo recommend a look at the very least...
Klim do it again!
I'd purchased a Klim lid last year and was therefore aware of their attention to innovative design so when considering an expensive purchase of new winter kit I reaseached the Badlands Pro jacket & jeans. I've already got Rukka kit which is brilliant but I wanted a longer cut jacket and the Klim Badlands Pro fitted the bill - I was amazed at the quality of both jacket & jeans - they work very well together and the design is class leading in my opinion. Fit can be an issue as the jeans came up a size smaller than I would've expected to take and the jacket a size larger - Milton Keynes Sportsbikeshop staff were extremely helpful in supporting me with a variety of different sizes until I got the fit right for me. The kit is very expensive but using it in cold, windy, rainy, sub-zero January weather in the UK has reassured me that it was a wise buy and should last for years!
Went for it after being recommended by fellow biker..wow! Be prepared for initial shock on weight over other makes..it's the body armour. But the feel and quality are top notch...lots of pockets and vents..can't fault it so far.. Staff at Sportsbikeshop are the best for customer service..good advice.
Could not be happier
So the jacket speaks for itself. Just go try vs the others. Vents are brilliant. So many I lost count. However, the knowledge of the guys at shop was the best. Helped a great deal in final decisions. No pressure just solid experienced advice ( as they use them themselves). I could not be happier.
I'm a big fan of Klim badlands so no surprise I rate it as excellent. Saying that I still only gave it four stars because for the 2018 jacket they removed the better quality back material to save weight when I would have rather have kept it. Also the 2018 jacket does not zip to the 2017 trousers, which is a bit annoying, it does zip on but one zip is longer than the others. Also the 2018 jackets packets do not have the same waterproofing as the 2017 so I think on those it is inferior. But it has had other sensible improvements like increasing the welded beads coverage in the slide area on elbows, the collar is more comfortable and clips down easier. The only other negative would be the price, it is very expensive, but my other lesser non Slim jacket lasted 18 years so I hope to get similar lifespan from this one if not more!. Build quality is excellent I can't find any faults with it. you get what you pay for!
