Dainese Laguna Seca 3 D-Dry Textile Jacket - White / Fluo Red / Black
Customer Product Reviews
Fit to body, fairly warm and waterproof enough
I cannot compare this to any other jacket really, but from my use so far it's been alright. I'd give it 4 stars as it's good for what it is - a sporty Italian textile jacket. It's warm enough (with the thermal liner), has well positioned armour, a pocket for a back protector and is waterproof enough to keep the occasional medium rain away. Also has one waterproof pocket which is nice. Looks great too. But there is a lot that could have been done better and for a jacket for over 200 quid, it's hard to forgive. Very small pockets, especially the left one, which are not waterproof. Area for the back protector is fairly small but at least it's there - I'd say about 5-6 inches of my lower spine is unprotected. The collars both on the neck and wrists are a nuisance to bare skin (not an issue when riding). The collar is tight, the jacket is quite short (very sporty) and the vents can be hard to reach sometimes. Other than that the jacket is great. It looks good, has adequate protection and is waterproof enough to not let small/medium rain in. I have not tested it in torrential rain as I avoid such weather and even then I have a completely waterproof overjacket on me at all times. You don't want to be walking with kilos of water on you and then having to dry your garment out. Also if you're looking for a great all-rounded this isn't really it. If you want a sporty textile that looks good is water resistant and feels good - sure, why not. But for all-day, general use I would avoid it.
Excellent Jacket but... Somehow Dainese did not add the pair of the zip. My current trousers zips didn't match (RST). When I bought my RST Jacket previously, it came with the pair of zip so I can sew it to any trouser I wish. Dainese on the other hand weren't so thoughtful. Unless you have a Dainese trouser with the matching zip. Tough. I had to go out of my way to sort it. Nevertheless it is a good jacket, but it is the details at the end of the day that make the difference.
Dainese Textile Jacket
Nice jacket, good quality. I'm just over 6ft tall and bought size XL euro 56. Fit on body was perfect BUT the sleeves are too long. Would have been 5 stars but for the sleeves ! Excellent service from Sportsbikeshop as usual.
Cosy and great!
With my recent bout with my bike against a diesel spill, this jacket held up pretty good! The side that I fell on was completely protected thanks to the shoulder pads, the jacket did burst a tiny bit at the seam of the shoulder however it's held up that well that it could be stiched back up. Crashing aside, the jacket is great. It zipps onto my Dainese Galvestone D2 Gore-Tex jeans, its warm at temperatures around 1 degree and its waterproof. If I had to pick one gripe about this jacket it would be that where the neck velcro fastens, it can rub against you and become uncomfortable if you don't wear a neck tube of some kind, however this is not really a big issue.
A great quality jacket, which looks as if it will stand up to an off and the elements. Minor downside is that the collar rubs slightly and the right pocket is very shallow as its near the stitching for the inner storm flap.
