I like it
I like this helmet, I took a risk buying it and I know what my risk was the oval part is the frame of the helmet itself, so the putting on and taking off of the helmet will pull the head off you ha, but the actual inside once your head is in is great fit to be honest the view through the visor is great, easy to change visors on the fly if needed, vents are real good, if its cold out you will feel it, people say its loud, it can be at times, but if you have bluetooth device with noise cancelling and those things that press the speakers to your ears, the wind noise reduced, same as most mid range helmets anyway, only lost one star to me as the getting on and off which is a pain but doable.
Awesome Helmet, amazing price!
Customer service was absolutely top notch. I'd seen the helmet cheaper elsewhere, so I sent them a price match request and within a day they'd messaged me back saying no problem, honouring it no quibble! I'm used to companies normally pulling out all sorts of excuses not to, but these guys were brilliant! The helmet itself is a real head turner and the field of view is much improved from my old Shark Skwal, the only downside is that it's a little louder with wind noise, but that's because it's more open around your chin/neck area - which is great for me in summer in terms of breathability, but will probably need a buff or something else in winter. The vents are a lot better too compared to the Shark, with the two small slide vents on top being easier to open and close and the one in the chin guard allowing far more air flow than the Skwal could. Other than wind noise (which isn't actually that excessive on my daily commute) it's an awesome bit of kit with top quality padding and a ridiculously easy visor swap out system that doesn't risk breaking every time you try or stripping screws like my Skwal did (2x broken visors now with Shark and not through dropping, they just have a really bad design flaw with the way the visor's claw shaped fitment attaches it to the helmet mechanism). I also actually prefer the D-loop fastener on this compared to the ratchet system too, feels a lot more secure, so it's definitely a recommend from me.
The ventilation part of the helmet is really good. You have to try really-really hard to make the visor foggy for a brief second while riding. Actually the visor is glossy not like on the picture. Great helmet with awesome grafics.
Comfortable, stylish, and very ventilated
First impressions out the box were that this helmet is LOUD. It stands out from a lot of other helmets, and if you were to put a reflective or colourful tinted visor on it, you'd be the first seen everywhere you go. Fitment is a weird one. At first, the helmet felt horrid on my head, my neck started to hurt, and I was getting slight headaches, but once I let it wear in and let my body get used to it, it's very comfortable now, even for my round oval head. You can see everything within your field of vision out of the visor, and when you let that airvent open, the amount of air that rushes in is amazing. I got dry lips within 2 minutes of riding. The only niggle I have is that the way you open the chin vent is ridiculously unintuitive. It's stuck in the inner shell of the helmet, so it's near enough impossible to open and close it while you're going. Overall though, a fantastic helmet, and well worth the money to stand out.
Best lid i've owned
Superb lid. Fits great. Decent build quality too. A better lid for me than "premium" brands I've owned recently. Stands out too - I like the lairy graphics, but they're probably not for shrinking violets. Some might not like the double D fasteners either, but I'm fine with them.
Really good helmet
I really like this helmet, It is an unusual design, it was very tight to get on initially being used to modular helmets (Flip front) however now that I have gone back to non modular helmets (Full face), I will not be going back. This helmet has cut outs ready in the foam for intercom speakers and they are very easy to install (5 minutes), once they are in they are very comfortable especially once the comfort padding has been broke in. The overall quality of the helmet is excellent, regarding the quietness of the helmet, it is reasonable but I wear ear plugs on all of my journeys, however without the ear plugs it can get quite loud inside the helmet especially at motorway speeds. would not hesitate to buy another one of these helmets
Great looks, correct fit, but loud!
Bought this helmet as I love the 80s inspired looks coupled with the different visor design. The helmet fits me perfectly (I'm a shoei/arai size small) it was initially a bit tight, but loosened up after about a half hours use and is now snug and correct. It always gets me looks, and lives up to the icon image. Any speed over 50mph on a naked bike and this lid becomes loud. It's mainly as it's very well ventilated and not all vents can be shut. This is easily solved with a set of earplugs though. The visor is classed as anti fog and does well, but it does get overcome by a foggy/chilly morning and slow riding, which means not enough airflow to demist. Drop down visor is cool! Tinted iridium, but the switch for it is a tad fiddly and takes getting used to. All in all this helmet is a great middle range lid with good spec and attitude! Just don't expect £400 finish or quality.
Could get it onto my head
The graphics are excellent, overall good quality product, however my head size is 58cm, I ordered size L which should fit me as it is 59-60cm, but the opening for the head is so small I could not actually put it on my head, I managed to do it once but it was extremely painful. My head is quite square so probably not good for people with this head shape.
This gets you looks and comments everywhere you go. Fantastic lid, increased visibility inside the visor is a great plus. The anti-mist system works a treat too. Fits snug and the ventilation is great too. I'd give it 4.5* because it uses the archaic D-ring system which leave you fumbling to strap on /off. Fantastic product though and decent price too.
