Weise Victory Glove - Tan
Customer Product Reviews
Sound glove, happy customer
THE GOOD: 1) They look flipping nifty. 2) They offer excellent feel at the lever. 3) The knuckle and finger protection is under the top skin of leather, rather than having half a gazillion joints of leather all stitched together (as we know it's the stitching that gives way in a crash). 4) They are priced at budget glove level. THE OK: 1) I ordered a Medium size. It is a really snug fit and is JUST comfortable. Luckily the leather seems to give a bit after a couple of hours use. If you are borderline Medium/Large I would go Large. They fit me fine, so no criticism from me here. 2) The leather seems rather thin. Not really a fair criticism as it is a) a summer glove, b) thinner material offers excellent feel, and c) it is pretty cheap. Overall, I think they'd do the business on a bad day, so I'm not too critical of this. 3) No, or should I say: limited, wrist protection. But this criticism is as per point 2), and so again not really a fair criticism and is the price you pay for the intended design and price. 4) The light colour tarnishes really rapidly and looks grubby really quickly. If it were a darker tan I could use some of my boot leather preserve, but this glove is more yellowish than brown. Using a sealant like dubbin makes the leather feel waxy/sticky. So I'm just going to have to live with it. Again, this isn't really a fair criticism as a) I knew the colour of the glove before I bought it and b) that's what makes it look so friggin' cool, bro. Overall, I bought these gloves because of 1) the price point, 2) they look awesome, 3) I wanted a light duty glove for the daily commute. So it fits the bill exactly and I'm super chuffed. Just make sure you measure your hand correctly and order as intended.
Cool looking gloves
Wanted a cool looking summer glove and these certainly look the part. Bought one size bigger having had similar type before. Only gripe (hence the four stars) is the seam in both the thumbs which tends to end up under your thumb nail which can be quite uncomfortable, I am hoping that this will become less of a problem as the gloves wear in.
Decent looking with a bit of armour
So, nice looking gloves for your classic looking bike that actually have a reasonable bit of armour in. On the downside, they are quite thin, & although the fingers have the stitching on the outside there is a bit on the thumb that is slightly niggling me. To be fair though, I've not worn them enough to wear in fully so maybe the bit on the thumb will ease. Compared to other "classic/hipster" gloves though, these do at least have a decent bit of knuckle armour.
Quality glove at a great price
Bought these for a work colleague who was leaving and we were all pleasantly surprised with the high quality of the build and finish of these gloves for the money. Loved the retro style and colouring, made a change from the run of the mill pairs available and helped it stand out as a gift. Cannot comment on performance but for quality/price we were very pleased.
Best of both worlds
I had to search for a long time until I've found a classic looking glove that also provides knuckle protection. You know, my hands are my most important tools. The Weise combines the best of both worlds, provides good value for money and the goat leather nestles perfectly to my hands. Only point of criticism is that one knuckle protector hasn't been deburred properly and so rubs on the knuckle. Time or my own ingenuity will solve this problem and due to the good value for money I don't want to bleat about it any further.
These are a good looking pair of gloves. Thought they might look a bit weird with my all black leather jacket, but they actually look pretty cool and retro. They seem to be well made. Haven't tried them in the cold yet as the weather is still 15 degrees.
