Oxford Delta Boots - Black I went to SBS Preston and had a different product in mind.
Staff were great, brought me around 6 pairs of boots in different sizes.
Ended up buying these boots around £100 cheaper than I had planned.
Lovely and warm, time will tell on waterproofness.
Alpinestars J-6 Waterproof Shoe - Black Gum My second pair of J-6 boots as fancied a different colour. Well made and good value (bought in sale). I found that I need to go one full size up as with thick socks the boots are a little tight otherwise. Even half a size up wasn't quite enough for me.
TCX Hub Waterproof Boots - Black This boots keep your feet warm and dry in cold and wet weather, but in a full day of rain, will not keep your feet dry. I used them every day for rides of at least 6h per day and I can't say will buy second time.
ARMR Aki 1.0 Waterproof Boots - Black Bought as a Christmas present and my husband was delighted. As there were only full sizes I went up a size and bought him insoles just in case. He has so far only tried them on but he coujdn't be happier. Very happy wuth purchase
TCX Airtech 3 Gore-Tex Boots - Black I bought these boots specifically because they are Gore-Tex. In my experience, nothing is as truly waterproof as Gore-Tex, despite many manufacturers’ claims.
They are exceptionally comfortable straight out of the box. The sizing was spot-on for my normal shoe size, and they feel great both on and off the bike. The zips work smoothly, and once fastened the boots feel snug and secure without being restrictive. Great on the bike for changing gear and braking from day one. Also very quick and easy to keep clean.
However — and this is a big however — the Velcro design at the top of the boot is a serious flaw. The Velcro is positioned on the inside of the flap, and if you wear these boots under trousers or without tall socks, it will rub your legs raw. On my very first ride, the rubbing was so bad that I had to stop and use plasters from my first-aid kit just to continue. It’s a genuinely poor design and a real shame, as it mars an otherwise excellent boot. I’ve since had to stick double-sided Velcro over the existing Velcro and buy knee-length ski socks to make them wearable — a workaround that really shouldn’t be necessary.
Another downside is warmth. I normally have very warm feet, but in temperatures below 10°C these boots feel cold. Below 5°C, my toes go numb in under half an hour. Because of this, I wouldn’t recommend them as your only pair of boots if you ride year-round in cold weather.
Overall, they’re super comfortable but the Velcro design flaw and lack of insulation prevent them from being truly great.
Richa Zenith Waterproof Leather Boots - Black Went a size up and they’re about right very comfy but not that warm when it’s below 5-6 degrees
Alpinestars Web Gore-Tex Boots - Black These replace my old pair that the zip broke on after 2 years daily use, so not too bad. They don't appear quite as good quality all round as my old pair but time will tell.
