The boots feel grippy and protective. Comfortable from the start and once you set the laces, they are easy to slip on and off just using the side zips. The neck of the boots feel a little stiff at first but have already started to break in after a few rides. Great reasonably priced boots.

Bought to replace Forma Adventure boots which have basically zero ankle support plus I wanted a boot with a stitched sole for longevity. Try before buy service is excellent. Glasgow staff were very helpful. I had tried the Sidi Adventure but they have a tight toe box and designed for chicken legs. These Gaerne boots tick all of the boxes, comfortable toe box, stitched sole, superb ankle protection, decent space for tucked in jeans and beautiful build quality. Boots for life? Just might be.

Most women's boots seem to be made for pipe cleaner legs (!) so those with chunkier calves can struggle to find a boot that is comfortable to wear. These are shorter than I usually wear but very comfortable to ride with and easy to get on/off, can also be worn with regular jeans. I took advice from others that the sizing comes up small so got a 7, I'm a 6 and they're fine.
