That was the squeak that was... these boots carry the mantle of Sidi's legendary Vertebra range
Customers have praised Sidi boots for their high quality, durability, and comfort, though some noted a break-in period. The adjustable calf mechanism and ventilation system received positive remarks. Many mentioned the boots’ sturdy construction, stylish design, and exceptional fit, especially after sizing up. Long-term users highlighted the boots' lasting reliability and protection. The boots were appreciated for their comfort both on and off the bike, though some found them initially stiff or narrow. Overall, highly recommended for quality and safety.
Quality boots but I listen to people saying to buy a size up. No need my normal shoe size was the correct size. They are now slightly large but ok with thick socks. What is troubling me is the cord/cables/wires that ratchet up the boot to your leg. I have had this catch several times on the side of the bike. And I find that dangerous.
Not the best for wide feet but other than this all round great boots
These boots are superb, and what an improvement over my 20yr old ones. Slightly snug, but likely just need breaking in. Love the adjustable back too, great feature.
The Sidi boots were to replace the RST's. The boots are well made, quality feel and fit with adjustable calf size. After a few rides they are no soft and comfortable, wore them around the house for a couple of days. Sportsbikeshop was awesome as always.
Like some others have said, they were very stiff when I initially put them on but I think that's mainly due to the supporting structure of the boots. My old boots were just leather.
With them feeling very different, I was a little worried when I first tried them out but needn't have. They are very comfortable and feel super supportive.
I went for these Sidi's as I have a wider calf and love the adjustability of them.
They do come up small. I have a UK size 8 foot but had to get a 9.5 in the end.
Great quality boot as you would expect and well worth the money for the protection and technology they provide.
Initially these boots felt quite stiff but loosened off after a few rides and now fit great.
Comfy both on and off the bike and really good quality. Plenty of adjustability to calf so can be worn over or under trouser legs.
More of a summer boot as not the warmest or fully waterproof.
I have wider feet so ordered one size up as recommended by other reviews which fit me a lot better. Great quality boots, zip can be quite tight to zip up when wearing armoured jeans but I imagine there will be a little bit of give to come. Great service from SBS as always!
definietly a pricy boot so I would wait for sales or discounts but they are comfy and sturdy. A boot worth the money. Buy cheap, buy twice.
Very nice boots. As with any new boots, the first few rides were an adjustment. The amount of times I went from 1st to neutral was embarrassing. Onlookers must have thought it was my first day on a bike. The heel was very grippy on the peg, reducing mobility of my foot. They have now broken in and feel amazing. Very sturdy and you can feel the vents in the toes. I'm a size 11 shoe but went a size up and it's a great fit. Just give them time to break in and you won't regret it.
Always been an Alpinestars man. But was initially taken to these by the great design.
What a well constructed boot and comfortable to.
Like any new boot, give them a couple of rides to break in.
Best boots I've owned.
Good fit and a decent product, had the previous version over 10 years. So happy to keep with a product I know.
Always wanted some Sidi boots so but the bullet. Glad I did the overall quality is amazing.
I'm a 42 and they are right but still need breaking in. Calf adjusters are amazing. Will see how they fair as I'm an all year rider
This is the 2nd pair of vertigo boots I have purchased my last pair were purchased in 2007 and apart from the tag on one of the zips braking and having to replace the tag with a ring from a keyring to fix and the white sidi writing has yellowed with age they are still in very good condition the main reason for purchasing a new pair was mainly the fact they have always been a little on the tight size and as Sportsbikeshop had such a great deal on the vertigo 2's I purchase them and as per my last pair these are absolutely fantastic and as I got a size bigger they now fit perfect.
Am I on Earth or the Mountains Of Mars? Who knows! I've been an avid user of Sidi boots for as long as I can remember and these are second to none, I was well overdue an upgrade as I was using 20yr old Black Rain Evo's and the protection in comparison from them to the Vertigo's is absolutely second to none. The design is immaculate, you can really tell the difference from the likes of Alpinestars which I tried on thoroughly and none of the other competitors came close to Sidi's class and expertise within the industry. I haven't broke the boots in yet but took me a couple of rides to get used to the feel of them on the bike again, my gearbox seemed not too impressed with the false neutrals I was finding with them but they are spot on now I am used to them. Still a bit tight in the toebox but these are race boots so I wouldn't expect anything less. Comfort and ease of accessibility is second to none, I could quite easily wear them on a night out, not sure that's their intended purpose but my god do they look the part! The calf retention mechanism is fantastic and has totally redefined what I'll look for in a boot from here on. You truly do feel protected with these boots on which is something many competitors struggle with. The ventilation system does actually work to my surprise, and there is a sense of genuine climate control at your fingertips. Arrived brand new, all tags etc and the ability to put new parts onto the boots via screws really does make you feel like you've invested correctly in the event of anything going wrong on them. Delivery was exceptional too, ordered on the Saturday, scheduled for the Monday but arrived on the Sunday. Top service from SBS as always, wouldn't choose anywhere else for Sidi.
Good and prompt service, boots excellent.
My original Vertigo boots lasted more than a decade but eventually started to look a bit tired and wear out. Having originally been unable to find any replacements I plumped for some Sidi Rex instead but never stopped hankering for my Vertigos, so was more than happy to find them back in stock.
For me the key is the calf adjustment and the Vertigos are much quicker and simpler to adjust than the Rex (which, to be fair, was designed as more of a track bike). There is good ventilation for summer rides and the protection feels excellent (hopefully I never get to test it!).
I'm a size 11 and the size 46 is almost a bit tight, so I would say if you're a half size you may want to go up a size rather than down.
My previous Vertigo boots lasted 15 Years. I cannot rate them highly enough. Delivery and service from Sportsbikeshop second to none.
I find them comfy, they look good and have awesome airflow which comes in handy during summer.
