I bought this to replace the standard Level 1 protector in my Klim Ai-1 airbag vest, and it’s worth it.

My complaint with the original (apart from only being Level 1) was how much heat it trapped against my back. An air jacket is never going to be the coolest thing to wear in summer anyway, but the much more open design of this makes a huge difference. My back is definitely less sweaty and it feels less like I’ve got a solid slab sitting behind me, despite being a bit thicker, it’s more comfy.

Obviously the other benefit is going from Level 1 to Level 2 protection, so you’re getting better protection AND better ventilation, which isn’t normally how these things work! Fits straight into the Ai-1 as you’d expect and there’s no downside that I’ve found.

Good upgrade. I’m just slightly annoyed that having already spent a small fortune on the Ai-1, this isn’t the protector Klim supplied with it in the first place…

Cracking helmet, quality build and comfortable, on my head at least (I'm an 60.5cm with longitudinal crown rather than rounded head shape and bought an XL, which was a very snug if not tightish fit new, but has slackened off slightly and is now a perfect fit). Good if your a glasses wearer like me too. Just wish they (Scorpion) produced a decent peak to go with it, I bought and fitted an LS2 Bob peak which works very well.

I tried boots from other brands, but they were all too tight around the wide part of my foot. These fitted just right - I'm size 46. I had these and another pair delivered to the store to try before buying.

They have not leaked at all after 1000 miles touring in Scotland and northern England with Cumbrian rain. Feet stayed cool and dry in 15-22C.

Note that the soles of the boots are very grippy, meaning you get a good grip on the ground, though not as easy sliding your foot over the gear pedal when changing. Not a fault, just for info, it's down to user preference.

This mini disc lock is also good for tying your bike to a post with a leash. Strong, secure & robust yes, but also heavy and not as compact as I'd like. Not a lock I'd wish to keep in my jacket pocket whilst riding and too large for many under seat storage trays unfortunately.

Early days as I've only worn them twice
The quality is very good and well designed. Atm they are a tight fit, but they should wear in ok.
