Advice & Guides If it feels like armour in your bike kit then the law demands it is actually proper, protective armour. Here's how to tell how effective your impact protection is...
Never been an over the boots pant fan and most heavy duty ITB pants just didn't accommodate knee braces.
Back to Klim Dakar with knee pads it was, then slipped back to super stretchy MX pants that would take a knee brace comfortably.
I never found the Dirt series pants very accommodating with a brace and the next size up was too big at the waist.
These Lejano pants have a better cut with a nice stretch waist band and rear panel. They are a heavy duty adv/rally pants, but unlike other brands the calf and knees are made super stretchy.
Great fit, use your normal size if you prefer the installed armour, or just want a fitted look that still accommodates a knee brace or large pads.
If you like a bit more freedom with braces then size up, the crossover between waist size adjustment is better than most and I found I could go up a size without the waist belt being pulled fully tight to keep them up.
I'm a 32" waist, chose the M size and removed the stock armour, leatt 6.5 padded base layer shorts and pod K8 V3, nice fit plenty of stretch.
The 34/L pant was a loose fit and if I was going somewhere extremely hot I would use this size.
