If it feels like armour in your bike kit then the law demands it is actually proper, protective armour. Here's how to tell how effective your impact protection is...
I'm 6'3 with long legs so got these in XL. They're a bit baggy but perfect for putting over my Jean's if the weather turns. If I was to order them again I'd maybe go for L instead but would like run into leg length issues.
Cant fault they're water proof ness.
It is a good trouser / overpants, it withstood heavy rain for long periods. I usually have the seat of my trousers getting wet when getting on and off the bike when it is raining heavily, this trouser solved this problem. The main problem is the fit and mainly the inseam which I believe is 33 inch. I purchased a size L/34 inch waist and it fits my waist perfectly, however the trouser is too long. The knee armor does not sit properly even though it has height adjustments and the trousers goes all the way down to the heel, so it scrapes the floor a little. I am 5,10 inch so a regular or even a short length will fit me well but there is no option for that. It accentuates the bagginess of the trousers, it works very well as overpant and will be very effective in the winter when you layer up but it would have worked a little better if it had a slightly tapered leg and a regular inseam.
A demanding field-testing process has produced Icon's most adventure-ready jean to date. The Raiden DKR Textile Jeans are the premier accompaniment to the DKR Jacket. Sharing the same Hycor construction as the jacket, further lengths have been taken with full seam sealing and full-leg waterproof YKK zips. Housed within the construction is a full complement of D3O impact protectors - both hip and knee. Removable boot stirrups and suspenders are also standard.
