Oxford Rainseal All Weather Over Trousers - Black
Customer Product Reviews
Waterproof but a weird fit
Although the material is waterproof, these seem too short between the crotch and the ankle meaning they sit too high and the bottom of your jeans get wet and water can run in the top of your boots. This was in a size larger then the size guide would have made me think too, The waist is plenty big enough and the crotch to waist is ample to leave no gaps around the waist.
Waterproof - yay!
These are great - they keep out the water, but they're also pretty good at reducing the wind-chill (I ride in armoured jeans mostly). One criticism I would level is the weird liner - it only goes half way down, and makes getting out of them a real pain. I cut it out, and now all is well. As far as fitting goes... I'm a 32in inside leg and a 36in waist so I got the XL and they fit fine. A smaller size would have been a bit uncomfortable, I think, and would possibly have ridden up at the ankle. So, all in all, a good purchase.
Got these to replace old over trousers. Ordered using the size chart. The trousers are very very baggy which makes getting on over boots easy, however, I have a concern that they may flap and touch a hot part of the bike. Would not change for a smaller size as the leg is just about long enough. Will check on first wet ride. Strangely the matching jacket is cut to fit normal humans.
Dry at last
I ride bikes for all if not most of every year, rains hard and I end up with wet butt and soaked groin, not nice, well, not any more, more than impressed, average daily ride 15 miles in total, the over trousers are comfortably big enough to fit over your normal protective riding gear, super light and roll up small enough to fit in the bottom of my ruck sack, not sure about the life of them as not had for that long, you know those mornings when it is hammering down and it's not going to let up, that is when the over trousers came into there own and I got to work dry. They do not feel like they are going to split and zip tight to you ankles. Can't really fault them to be fair, they do what they are supposed to do, oh and I also got the Oxford over jacket.
Excellent value for money
I bought two pairs one for myself and my daughter and as others have said the sizing is perfect. The quality looks good and after an hour long ride in the heavy rain no leaking. They roll up nice and small too.
Great value trousers
Bought these for the daily commute to provide a bit of warmth and keep me dry and they haven't disappointed so far. Easy to get on over my regular bike trousers and my boots, with care so as not to tear the partial lining. Zips give ample range for bigger boots, but does get caught on the lining now and again. With a little patience is easily sorted though! I haven't found them too baggy either and I'm only 4ft 11". I opted for Medium size, there is some 'spare' but doesn't impact on the comfort and they don't bunch up behind your knees. Great value pair of trousers.
Quality is high, fit/sizing is unusual
Once you get the right fit this is a good product. Thick and waterproof, packs down small enough. But sizing is very odd. I bought the size recommended and they are simply enormous around the waist, seat and thighs. SBS service great as usual.
Keep me dry but....
Feel great quality and look like they'll stay dry in the rain. Being 6'2" I've found that other over pants are too short but these feel OK on length. The biggest issue is how big the are, I bought a Large and there's loads of room around the top of the pants, I could get 2 of me in them even with padded bike jeans on. Lining is nice protects from the cold when it's wet. They'll do the job but I just wished someone would make a pair with a decent fit. RST were way to short and Richa ones leaked.
So good I bought two pairs
Bought a pair of these for my wife to ride pillion based on other review and the technical description. They were such good quality I bought a pair for myself when we got back from holiday. With welded seams and durable fabric they look and feel like they will last a fair number of years - and keep out the worst of the weather.
