Oxford Rainseal All Weather Over Trousers - Black
Customer Product Reviews
Not bad at all
I ride all year around, in all weather (except icy conditions obvs) & these do a pretty good job. Sizing is excellent. If you are doing any amount of walking in them, heat becomes a problem, as they are not made of breathable fabric. Typical, of all over-trousers, if they do leak, it is on the crotch, however, I really cannot complain at this price.
Watch the zips!
I've only worn these once in heavy rain for about twenty minutes and the waterproofing was great. They are pretty thick and heavy so they will probably last for quite a while. The extra long zips on the legs are very useful for getting them on and off but because the fabric underneath the zips is quite baggy you have to be careful it doesn't get stuck in the zips. Although you can get it out it's a pain especially if you're in a rush! I've found it's best to run my index finger in front of the zip as I pull them down and this helps to avoid this happening. Apart from this I would say they are a good product at a great price and the usual superb service from sportsbikeshop.
Big, baggy but practical
Ordered medium black to go over my Alpinestars Tech-touring large trousers. I am 5'7" and 32" waist 29" inside leg. Trousers are quite long and baggy. Thought I would return for a small but decided not to. My reasoning is if it's starting to pour with rain it will be far easier putting these on over my boots and trousers with less hassle. So they fit OK as over trousers but not yet tested in the wet.
Excellent product, sizes run slightly bigger
Hi, the only complaint I have about these trousers is that the sizes run slightly bigger. So, I'm a woman and am a size 14-16, I initially ordered the size XXL as that is what I am in many other brands, plus, these trousers are to go over other trousers/jeans so, I thought I'd need to order up. The XXL is massive, so, I returned the XXL to sportsbikeshop and ordered the XL, which is even still a bit too big but, I'm holding onto them. So, if you're ordering, don't order up and maybe even err on the side of the lower size.
I have been using a similar priced product from a different manufacturer for a number of years but last two pairs have not remained waterproof for very long - time for a change. I have recently also bought rainseal over jacket and both have been severely tested this week! All good so far!
Its waterproof and cheap!
Lightweight and waterproof. Bought the same size as I would trousers but they are very baggy so returning for a size down. No thermal liner means you can stuff it in your bag really easily and doesn't take much space. Keeps you dry, what else do you want?
Great waterproof trousers. Slip on easily over boots and kevlar jeans thanks to widening zips. Ridden in heavy rain and was kept bone dry. Great when used in conjunction with rainseal waterproof top. Fantastic performance - value for money.
Quality item & service.
Bought with the hi viz jacket, yet to use the trousers in anger. Good looking product, look well made. Leg length not a long as the cheap over trousers I was replacing. At 6' 3'' not sure they won't rise to the top of my boots when on the bike. Worth a try, you can always return. SBS service excellent as normal.
Waterproof but a weird fit
Although the material is waterproof, these seem too short between the crotch and the ankle meaning they sit too high and the bottom of your jeans get wet and water can run in the top of your boots. This was in a size larger then the size guide would have made me think too, The waist is plenty big enough and the crotch to waist is ample to leave no gaps around the waist.
Waterproof - yay!
These are great - they keep out the water, but they're also pretty good at reducing the wind-chill (I ride in armoured jeans mostly). One criticism I would level is the weird liner - it only goes half way down, and makes getting out of them a real pain. I cut it out, and now all is well. As far as fitting goes... I'm a 32in inside leg and a 36in waist so I got the XL and they fit fine. A smaller size would have been a bit uncomfortable, I think, and would possibly have ridden up at the ankle. So, all in all, a good purchase.
Got these to replace old over trousers. Ordered using the size chart. The trousers are very very baggy which makes getting on over boots easy, however, I have a concern that they may flap and touch a hot part of the bike. Would not change for a smaller size as the leg is just about long enough. Will check on first wet ride. Strangely the matching jacket is cut to fit normal humans.
