Nolan Helmets

I’ve been using a Nolan flip-front motorcycle helmet for years. This model is my 2nd and have been very impressed with its overall quality and comfort. The flip-up mechanism is smooth and easy to use, even with gloves, making it very convenient for quick stops or conversations.

The interior padding is comfortable and supportive, and ventilation works well to keep airflow steady while riding. Wind noise is well controlled for a modular helmet, and the visor offers a clear, wide field of view. The helmet feels solid and secure when closed, even at higher speeds.

While it’s slightly heavier than a full-face helmet, the added convenience makes it worthwhile. Overall, the Nolan flip-front helmet is a reliable, comfortable, and practical choice for everyday riding and touring.

I tried this helmet on in-store to get the right size - it’s my first bike helmet. Size small fits perfectly. Instantly comfy! Unlike other helmets I tried on, the Nolan N120-1 sits snug and secure without any tension spots. The dual face fitting is a little stiff to pull up to begin with, but after about 3 gos, is smooth as anything. I went with matte black which is both noticeable on the road and stylish - bike shop employee recommended black after reading a survey that indicated most drivers see black more than white on the road with motorcyclists. Have used the helmet in single figure degrees - it keeps my head warm, the front vent does a good enough job keeping fog-up away however during a colder ride (around 4 degrees) I decided to use the shaving gel hack on the visor as I couldn’t quite see my speed. Going to get a stick on fog remover visor. Overall, I’m very happy with this helmet!

Very straightforward and seamless transition from my Shoei Neotec 1. When I purchased my Neotec a long long time ago you had to pay a premium if you wanted safety as well as comfort. With this helmet I got everything and for a bargain price on Black Friday Sale. Additionally it is more comfortable if you ride with the chin bar up as there is less weight pushing your head down due to the clever chin bar design. All else works as expected, I was not particularly enamoured with the bluish tint on the dark visor but now I realise that this design choice is probably because the bluish tone retains clarity as well as giving shade, so very functional. There are only 2 negatives with this helmet. The pinlock is functional however not as effective, I had to open the visor a little to let air in to reduce the nasal condensation hotspot; a higher grade pinlock would have been the 'icing on the cake'. Secondly, I don't like the colour I chose, but had I purchased a different graphics then the value rating would have diminished a little.

A good fit with the lower visor I no longer get wind in my eyes making colder weather riding a lot safer well pleased.

The carbon fibre is gorgeous, as is the paint job and overall quality of the product. Better than the Shark lid I kept. For some reason the chin strap just wasn t comfortable and when the front face was closed it was too tight. Try it as otherwise it s beautiful.
