Advice & Guides You'd be surprised how many riders wear a helmet that's too big for them. Here's how to tell if a lid really fits you...
Customers generally appreciated this helmet for its comfort, fit, and features like the flip-front convenience and internal sun visor. It is described as well-built, with decent noise reduction, though a few customers mentioned it being noisy at higher speeds. The helmet's safety standards received positive remarks. Some noted minor downsides such as potential visor misting and wind noise. Overall, customers found it to be good value for money, with a sleek design and versatile functionality, making it a reliable choice for various riding needs.
The build quality of this budget flip front helmet is truly incredible for the price. The comfort (which is subjective) but for me is one of the most comfortable helmets I have ever worn and I am usually a Shoei/Arai snob. The massive bonus again for me is one of the quietest helmets I have ever owned. The drop down inner visor is truly in a class of its own as it drops down to virtually the whole depth of the opening and is optically perfect and a good dark tint. The cost of a replacement visor is very reasonable when compared to the likes of Shoei/Arai etc. The top head vent really does have an effect on cooling your head without cold spots as some of my other helmets have had. The flip mechanism works perfectly for me (this is my first flip front helmet I have ever owned) and as the helmet is P/J rated it is useful for bringing a little fresh air to the face in towns and slow riding etc. This is my first helmet with a micro ratchet strap and I thought this would be a big negative but in use this is a really easy and non-intrusive system. In my research MT Helmets appear to be made in China but are from designs created in Spain and the paint lacquer is faultless. My Cardo intercom fitted straight in to the helmet although I see that there is a MT branded integrated plug and play system available at very reasonable cost. I bought this helmet and immediately rode over 2k miles over 3 weeks in mainland Europe in 39c heat and was mightily glad I could flip the helmet up to relieve the temps we were suffering. This holiday showed that the helmet coped perfectly with the conditions and showed no discomfort to my head with pressure points etc. The only negative point I could find with this Atom 2SV was that the main visor is not quickly detachable and needs the pivot screws undoing in order to remove and clean the visor. I managed to obtain 2 spare visor screws as I knew that somewhere down the line I would probably lose a screw and that could be a disaster if away from home on holiday. I had to contact Oxford Products who are the distributors in order to obtain the spare screws as Sportsbikeshop did not carry any spares which perhaps needs addressing.
Overall a fantastic helmet which should not be overlooked and the price point is almost too cheap for the features and quality on offer.
I was looking at the LS2 Advant X and settled on this helmet to pair with a new jackets to lower costs on spending and was not disappointed. While this is a flip up and not a flip over helmet, there is minimal pull back from the wind. Overall very happy with this helmet and believe its stylish look keeps up well with much larger brands.
This was a birthday present for my daughter came on her birthday as planned, packaging was brilliant helmet fitted well felt secure and comfortable on her head, definitely recommend to others 5*
I’m amazed how good this helmet is for the price. I only bought this as a temporary helmet to use on a European holiday. The fit is perfect, I’m a small, with a nice liner. I fitted a Sena 50r which was simple. If I’m being picky, the air vents are a bit cheap plastic but heh! It’s £150! Including a pinlock.
Helmet reserved for shop fitting , all ready to go as soon as arrived in shop. Advice given and service excellent .
Great product and Great service.
Comfortable and practical at a good price
Bought this for my wife and its a excellent fit and very comfortable, the flip works well and well.as the integrated sun visor and looks good.
Good helmet for price, fits week, store staff were really great at helping me find right size and providing advice
I’ve previously had Caberg helmets for flip front due to wearing glasses, but having read reviews for this helmet I’ve given it a go. XL size is a snug fit but having only worn once I’m sure it’ll ease in.
Flip front is easy to use and the visor and smoked visor are really good with smooth action and locking. The same goes for the vents which are easy to open and close when on the move.
Wind noise isn’t terrible, I’ve worn louder helmets but wind noise is a given with any lid unless you’ve got a bike with a large screen.
Overall, after one use I’m pleased so far, looking forward to using it more once the warmer weather lands.
Good fit like the fact the internal visor drops to the nose
For the price this helmet is great, it's a little noisy but it saved my life when I got hit by a car so would 100% recommend
Although it was something of a step-up from my old HJC helmet and being my first flipfront, it was quite good at general rides out and commuting to work in most conditions, even in heavy rain it was alright. Stepping up in bikes meant a stepup in distances and this is where the noise level became a problem, this is a fairly noisy helmet at sustained 70mph and demands earplugs for this as an absolute must.
My new HJC RPHA helmet is significantly quieter, even with it's peak on, but I do still use this for quick local rides out at average speeds or for a spot of gokarting.
Great styling made really well fits perfectly. And with the sharp rating off 4 out off 5 it was the one for me. Really happy with product and pricing
First helmet I have owned and just starting out, but feels well built and comfortable with a snug fit.
Very fast delivery and great item as described
You can’t ask for more at this price. Great looking, comfortable and versatile. Went a size up as medium was not suitable.
This helmet is a snug fit which it’s supposed to be yet it’s not uncomfortable in any way. Time will allow the helmet to form slightly to be an even better fit. I was particularly impressed by the lac of wind turbulence and it is very noticeable that my head was absolutely still at national speeds. Visibility is good with clocks and handlebars in view without having to dip my head. Really light and put together well. Carries a European safety standard that some other makes don’t.
Good value helmet, nice comfortable fit.
All the functions are easily accessible.
