Customer Reviews for Keis J501 Premium Heated Jacket - Black / Red
Thoughtful design and well made
Very good design e.g. thin but high neck line that will work well with an outer shell. Impressed by the quality of the finish. Not sure about the sizing: I'm 1.85m & 90kg with long arms so took a size S, so while the body is snug the jacket arms seem to ride up. If I'd got the M maybe the arms would've been good but the body would not be tight enough? Covid stopped the Norway trip so couldn't test it. Service and advice from Sportsbike was bloody awesome.Read more
Didn't know what to expect but very pleased with the results I took the advice of the other reviewers and went down a size and got a perfect fit haven't had chances to use it yet on a ride but did connect it up to the bike to try it out.Read more
Why be without one?
Having been much acquainted with a Keis vest, eight years plus, I thought it about time I added the extras that this jacket offered. Getting a snug fit is important, so worth following the advice for a size smaller than you would normally do. The heat it provides is perfect in combating the cold. Even on the chillier days days that started with a light frost the low setting was adequate. Having the areas of the sleeves and collar heated in addition to the body makes a perfect combination for keeping the rider focused on riding. You soon notice how warm you have been when you disconnect from the bikes power cable. Don't use this jacket without the controller as the high setting is hot. The joy in not having to layer up resulting in a level of restriction in movement is most welcome. It is well made and fits like a glove.Read more
Great quality jacket controler a must as jacket is very hot mostly used on low setting. If like me you have a cold core it really is a game changer no more uncomfortable rides with 5 layers on , just a base layer and jacket. Wish a had bought one years ago, well worth the price and as always excellent service from SBS.Read more
Keis heated jacket
Ok,I don't usually do reviews, but lam on my 3rd jacket in 5 years , ride 365 days, 60miles plus some a day , the jackets are nice bit of kit well made , first two jackets better than the new J501 bit too lightweight the as well made as early jackets, but more pockets which is very handy , here's the downside, the wiring and connectors supplied with jackets is so poor Given cost the off the kit , they are of no use in the real world, broken wires constantly, but beats freezing to deathRead more
Best for heat!
This really is an excellent heated jacket. As said, go down a size from your normal when ordering. Connecting the power lead direct to the bike's battery takes minutes.Recommend starting on LOW setting (yes LOW, as I recklessly went straight for the MED setting. Couldn't believe how warm I was, in fact I could have slid a Gregg's pastie in there and it would have been ready to eat on arrival. I'm lining up hamburgers for my next trip) Wear a long sleeved top underneath to protect the skin (as per instructions) and you are good to go. Bear in mind the jacket has a high collar and if your outer jacket doesn't have an adjustable collar it could all be a bit constricting if you wear a muff too. This will certainly extend your riding season if you are a fair weather biker (like me) 100% recommended with superb service from SportsbikeShopRead more
Best piece of riding kit ever. Makes winter riding a pleasure. Fit and quality first rate but I did have to go a size smaller than usual.Read more
Hot hot Hot!!!
Fantastic heated jacket, this really works, only have used it on lowest setting as it is really hot, kept my body and arm very toastie. I can't imagine when I would need it on medium or high, outstanding, I went down a size, and really could have went down another, but i like a loose fit, looks great even off the bike, so saves space in the panniers packing another jumper if away for a few days. Highly recommended.Read more

Brilliant service from SBS, good communication letting me know when I'd receive my order. The Jacket is good quality and keeps me warm during those winter mornings. I followed the recommendation to go down a size which: was a good call.Read more
Quality piece of kit
Looked at this and the Gerbring jacket but this was cheaper, came with a free controller and a ten percent discount from subs swung the deal. Should have got it last year! Adds months to the season. Now my legs feel cold and I need the gloves..Read more

Questions and Answers
I tried on size 58 in a store, what size is that? XXL? XXL? ThanksFebruary 20, 2020
Size 58 equates to an XL as per our size guide
Will the heat controller supplied control the jacket & heated insoles simultaneously ?January 18, 2020
The J501 heat controller connected to the primary garment will only control the heat setting of the primary garment. Use an optional Inline Heat Controller to control the heat setting of any other additional connected garment, such as insoles.
Hello I am only 5 foot 4 inches tall but have big hips I normally take a 18 size top and 20 bottom is there a lady that understand my size and can help on what size in this jacket I should chose .Thank you .December 5, 2019
Hello there, The best way to go ahead with a good fit would be to measure your chest and compare the sizes in the size chart. The jackets are elasticated so most people choose a size smaller but if you feel like your hips are big, you could stick to the size you measure closest too.
When will you have the size 38 inch chest in stock of the Keis heated jacket?April 27, 2019
Unfortunately we will not have any further stock now until around September, apologies.
As pillion my arms get very cold even with many layers on. Can anyone tell me if the Keis J501 keeps the arms warm and what parts of the arms are covered by the elements? Any advise would be welcome!March 26, 2019
Hi, the J501 has heat panels on the chest, kidneys, arms and collar. The panels on the arms run from the top of the outside of the arm to just above the sleeve zip.
As I frequently travel with a pillion passenger can you connect/power two Keis J501 jackets from a single motorbike?May 29, 2018
We can see no reason why not - you would need to check that your charging system is capable of taking the draw of two jacket and any other accessories that you are running. The current draw of each jacket is 7A.
Does the Keis j501 jacket have the distribution system as the X25 jacket-for the Keis gloves ?February 23, 2018
The Keis vest is able to operate on its own or integrate (connect) with Keis heated trousers, gloves, or insoles, via convenient built-in power leads and/or sockets.
How does it connect? Cigarrette lighter type plug?February 22, 2018
The jacket comes with a motorcycle battery connection loom, if you wish to connect it to 12v socket you would need to purchase the Keis Accessory plug lead separately.
Why can't the power pack be used with this? Are there any full length sleeved jackets that it can be? I have multiple biked and would rather not be wired to themJanuary 10, 2018
Unfortunately the J501 jacket would require too much draw from the battery pack. You would be able to use either the Keis V501 Premium Heated Vest or the Keis X10 Heated Body Warmer with the use of the battery pack but they are not full sleeved jackets.
