Every time you put your hand in a glove, it should be passing the CE label that shows it's been tested as protective kit. We'll show you how to understand what it's telling you...
I bought these to replace a pair or older Covert gloves which are getting worn out after many thousands of miles. Sportbikeshop discounted price sealed the sale. Those were the best gloves I'd ever had in 40 years plus riding, even wore them in winter with heated grips although too hot when weather is up in the 30s. The new ones fit equally well but seem bulkier than before- may just be because they are new. The tightening strap at the wrist seems a retrograde step, the zip on my old ones was better. Otherwise quality and design is top notch. Have not used them in the rain but I'm expecting 100% waterproofness or they will be going back!!
My first bit of Knox kit.
The leather took a bit of loosening up and the thumb is still a but tight but not enough to think I need a bigger size.
Assuming they are good for safety and weather protection etc but the touch screen pads are terrible to use on an iphone to the point of almost not working at all, even when first out of the box.
The fit is good. I take a medium size and the medium size fits. The finger length is right for me. Initially the gloves were a bit stiff. However, after 200 miles of use they are now all day riding comfortable. Fortunately, as yet I haven't tried out the waterproofness. They are not a winter glove for cold temperatures below 10C. However, for an all round glove for the UK climate they are good.
This glove is the best fitting I've ever tried literally fits like a glove most other gloves either the thumb or little finger is too small or narrow I love it
I bought a pair of the MkII gloves a few years ago, going for size M (same size as the Orsa textile gloves which fit well). While I could get these on, they never fitted properly, and "pinched" at the base of the fingers (I was hoping that they would improve with wear, but that didn't happen).
I bought a pair of MkIII in size L in the summer, have worn them a few times including in the 3 / 4 degree weather this week (December). Much better, no pinching. They are pretty warm, but only combined with hand guards and heated grips at those temps! Work well in damp conditions, but would be improved with an integral visor wiper on the left finger (I use a VEE wipe bought from SBS).
Good quality, comfy gloves that keep the wind and rain out. Just make sure you get the sizing right, and don't bank on them stretching if they are tight!
Although a very high quality glove, I preferred the previous Knox Covert Outdry glove which was even more comfortable and had zip closure on the wrist.
Knox is my favoured make of glove.
wArm, dry and you can feel the controls. What more do you want.
I've been impressed by Knox brand, bought a few different things, these gloves fit great and look good. I like the palm sliders that help to prevent in a fall the leather palms gripping on our UK road tarmac. Hopefully will not need to find
out. Comfort is good too.
This is my second pair of Covert gloves having owned the previous version for a few years. They like their predecessors are super comfortable, beautifully made and perfect for UK spring summer autumn conditions. Waterproofing has proved dependable and they've been warm enough for recent chilly temperatures.
They aren't prefect though, for one the touch screen function simply doesn't work. When stood still phone in hand it will register a touch with some considerable pressure but the odd tap of a screen on the move doesn't work. The new cuff adjuster isn't great either, it doesn't hold position very well and isn't comfortable when tightened at all. I far prefer the zipped cuff of the previous model.
All in all still a lovely glove, and one which will end up a go to but shame the new features and cuff design hasn't worked out.
Been using cheaper leather gloves up until now. Bought these Knox Covert mk3 gloves,9 have now broken them in and what a difference. We'll recommended.
The First point the service from sports bike shop was first rate
I wanted a waterproof understated gauntlet style glove with decent protection..Harder to find thanI imagined.Well these fit the bill .they go over sleeves very well.with good armour
And so far waterproof. The only niggle is
The lack of a visor wipe which seems an oversight
The Knox Covert MKIII is made from tough goatskin with a durable water resistant film. The waterproofing is guaranteed by Knox Seal, a highly breathable laminated membrane, guaranteed to give 100% waterproofness and wind protection. The perfect spring, summer and autumn glove without adding bulk. They also Incorporate the patented low-profile Knox Scaphoid Protection System (SPS) on the palm (Patent No EP1594378) to eliminate the grab effect that occurs when a leather palm makes contact with the road, reducing the risk of hyper extension of the wrist which can be the cause of a broken scaphoid.
