You'd be surprised how many riders wear a helmet that's too big for them. Here's how to tell if a lid really fits you...
Great kit, quick delivery. All in all great company.
Had roof lids before and all ways liked them. Tried a few on on my own then a lovely lady who worked there helped check fit.
Great products and a great shop
This is the second Roof Lid I have bought now the first being the Desmo V8.
This lid is the latest and by far the best lid from Roof it's super lightweight this was a major reason for buying the carbon model as I have degenerative discs in my cervical spine:
The lid visor system is a vast improvement over the older model and visors from sbs are reasonably priced for the Roof Carbon boxxer at £53.
I also think the locking mechanism is a great innovation and far superior to its snap shut system on the older lid great service from the guys & girls at SBS as usual highly recommend this lid try one out you wouldn't be disappointed
Great helmet. Very light and comfortable. Only problem I had was fitting an intercom. Found the Cardo spirit (not hd) with small speakers will fit, with a bit of messing around. I tried a lot of carbon helmets and this was the lightest.Lighter than the KLIM. Even took scales into the Preston shop to weigh an array of carbon helmets (sad). I have a neck problem and do a high mileage, so need a light helmet.
Fantastic dual purpose lid
A light and comfortable helmet, especially like the ability to switch between open and full face. Relatively easy to do at lights etc. pleased with my choice.
Not much I can say that others before me haven't already covered. This is a great crash helmet, everything about it works as it should and feels well made. Fit/sizing is true. Gives the best of both worlds, open and full face. I use it on my Triumph Bobber and think it looks the part. One minor gripe, theres no proper recesses for Bluetooth speakers to be installed, however I did manage to fit my Sena SMH5, which aren't the smallest or slimmest speakers and it's comfortable enough with only minimal pressure being felt on my ears. I guess this would vary with head shape. Overall a lovely helmet that looks cool, fits well and didn't cost the earth. Service from SBS was brilliant as always, which is why I keep going back to them.
One of the best helmets I've owned, great fit and stylish, in my eye it's great value for money.
Brought as a replacement for my Roof Desmo. Much lighter , great flip action , excellent ventilation, although having top vent open is quite noisy. Good quality helmet.
My first flip up lid and I'm impressed for the most part. Only two small problems. First thing the wind guard under the chin is a little awkward to fit, I had to take the chin bar off altogether. The second issue is the noise with the air intake on the top, but this is easily solved by closing it. Other than that it's a pretty good lid.
Awesome helmet - supercool and very comfortable - visor doesn't fog at all.
This new version is superb in my opinion. Chin strap and visor fasteners are greatly improved from my V5. Comfortable, quite and versatile with flip up chin section.
Very nice helmet but for summer.
In one week I bought 3 off this helmet, I really like this, the helmet is not heavy but, I don't like it in heavy rain, I will be very happy to use in summer time.
It's just 10 times better over about what I was expecting, I convence my friends to buy as well...
Comfortable , light, absolutely insane the design.
I really recommend this helmet ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Good fit, sizing guide accurate.
Good all round visibility.
Glad I upgraded to this one.
I've fancied a Roof Boxer for several years but have always been put off by the mixed reviews. Now the new Boxxer is here, apparently addressing some of the issues of past models, I decided to take a chance and buy one as a second helmet. First impressions when opening the box are of a very well made helmet with an unnusual and very cool design. Initially, I was surprised that you have to open the front to put on and take off the helmet, but I soon got used to that. The helmet is true to size (I take a medium) and fits very well, although I do have a couple of pressure points on my jaw - not a major problem but I'll try adjusting some of the padding, given the additional foam inserts provided. The flip front works really well and opens and closes easily when on the move (unclip one side at a time) and the visor is very clear and provides a huge field of view. It's not the quietest of helmets, so I probably won't be using it for touring. Perfectly acceptable with earplugs though. Altogether I'm really pleased with my purchase.
Bough the helmet as a bit of a gamble without trying it first but the size guide was on point and i got the perfect fit. I would describe my head shape as a oval with slightly protruded jaw and the inner shape of the helmet is also perfect. My previous helmet was AGV K4 and my jaw was touching the lower inner front part of the helmet which i found really annoying.
This helmet is surprisingly quiet! There is absolutely no wind howl or any kind of whistle noices going about 55mph on cruiser bike. Top vent makes a slight whistle when open but nothing too dramatic.
Face opening system is very easy to use also with one hand which is nice.
Ventilation is more than enough(face closed of course).
All in all absolutely worth the money considering it is a great and very light open face helmet. I would definitely recommend this product.
Looking at the official Roof website the helmet is listed at 1500 grams.
