If it feels like armour in your bike kit then the law demands it is actually proper, protective armour. Here's how to tell how effective your impact protection is...
Customers commend the Oxford Arizona Air trousers for their comfort, quality, and fit. They appreciate features like the adjustable waist, removable braces, and good airflow, making them ideal for hot weather. Common critiques include the limited knee protector adjustment and insufficient Velcro at the ankle, which some customers find problematic. Despite minor issues, the trousers are generally viewed as excellent value for money, suitable for summer riding, and highly recommended by several customers for their overall performance.
True to size, bought the XL and short length as I have a 28" inside leg. A good fit and a nice breeze entering the trousers, but not as breezy as the matching jacket. Quality seems good and the braces are a good addition. A few have said about the velcro at the ankles, they were a bit baggy so I bought double sided velcro and added more along the length. A simple fix and sorted, now a nice clean tight fit. The trousers are a must have in days with temperatures over 20°.
With the start of the hot weather I realised my aerated leathers and armoured jeans were too hot. Ordered these trousers which arrived rapidly, fit well and make riding (a few hundred miles to date) comfortable in 20 to 35 degree heat. Fit as sized and include braces if required.
Too early to form a solid view but as Sportsbikeshop.com have already sent loads of emails I thought I'd give an early view.
What's good ? Decent airflow through them and quite comfortable. They dry fast after a shower so I just let them get wet rather than putting waterproofs over the top. I'm using them only above 22c or above 18c if it's showery. Below 22c or if its dry I'm still using jeans. They are cooler than jeans.
What's Bad? They are cheap and therefore a few niggles are to be expected. I don't like the way the boot flaps velcro only at the bottom. The main niggle is that they have a flap across the fly when you unzip like a storm flap. They are not waterproof so what's this for. With braces holding them up it's hard to take a pee! I'll be cutting this out when I get time.
I've given them 4* but time will tell if they drop down from there.
Nice fit but the reason for not putting a zip on the bottom of the leg escapes me. At any moment, the bottom of the leg will open and flap around, no matter how you try and secure them shut
The trousers work well in the heat as I’ve just used them in 36c heat, however the leg fastening comes undone and leaves the leg flapping in the wind, if I was to come off like this the leg would roll up exposing my beautiful bare flesh, theses need better Velcro or zips as I’m going to have to do
Very happy with these trousers. Great quality for the price as always with Oxford products.
Fit is accurate and integral braces are a good addition. A recent tour in warm weather tested the ventilation and I confirm ...very comfortable.
My only complaint would be that the two bits of the press stud are misaligned meaning that if you press the two bits together it unhooks the hook! Luckily the hefty hook is enough anyway. All in all. Great.
I wanted a lightweight mesh trouser for a trip to Spain, I have a Richa Gore-tex jacket with the liner removed for normal use but just couldn’t justify £350+ for the trousers knowing they would be too warm. These are perfect and still maintain protection. Fit is as expected.
Great value and a nice fit. As others say, could do with more velcro around bottom of legs, but happy overall.
Great pair of lightweight trousers for the Summer. Good quality and reasonable price. Sizing is pretty good , comes with built in braces.
Overall not bad for the money
Great lightweight summer trousers, usual Oxford quality, always great on their sizing which is spot on. Next day delivery from SBS what's not to like!!
i came across these by accident on the clothes rail when i originally came to the sportsbike shop for some Rst textile trousers these are great quality and should be great for the summer. Not to heavy but has all the protection needed.
Thease trousers are very comfy and in the hot weather they do keep you cool. Pleasent draft where you need them. The fit is good, I would suggest going for a longer leg than you normally wood so they dont ride up over your boots. Well worth the money. Fantastic service from SportsBikeshop. Delivered the next day, what more couls you ask for. Thanks.
Excellent summer trousers with mesh panels for cooling. Not as bulletproof as regular bike trousers but the slight compromise in protection is worth the comfort.
Purchased these summer trousers after returning bulky RST vented trousers. Still more sweaty than I would have wanted but mabe that's the price of still retaining some sort of protection. Also bottom of legs need more Velcro. Overall quality good and excellent service from Sportsbikeshop
Well up to Oxfords high quality standard. Comfortable and good fit. Bought to replace my vented kit for an upcoming Spain trip and so far they are excellent and can't wait to rest them in the Spanish sun.
I tried several summer trousers but either knee armour in wrong place or far too long. These fit really well and good knee armour position with lots of adjustment. Ended up getting a size 2-3" bigger waist than I need as they feel more comfortable and use the side straps to pull the waist in. Only negative is the bottoms need extra velcro as they balloon out above the ankle fastening and look a bit stupid. But very comfortable and quality seems good. Best mesh trousers I've found.
Feel really good quality and fit perfectly , the only small drawback is at the ankle where the velcro is it leaves a gap where the boot expansion area is so could do with velco upwards too, but overall very pleased
My normal Morocco hot weather riding gear is out in Spain but in late April I am flying from UK into Marrakech and hiring a bike there, so I need new trousers.
Black is a crazy colour for hot climes, so I prefer silver or other light colours, with extensive mesh to let air through, so I went for Oxford Arizona Air in Arctic colour.
For the price it's a brilliant bit of kit and built-in braces (which can be removed) were a bonus. Easy waistband adjustment and metal waist clip rather than a silly popper button. No hip protector, but there's a pocket to retrofit and I might transfer protectors I saved from an old suit. When the velcro is released, the bottoms of the trousers are really wide to help put boots on.
I'm an inside leg of 30" on a good day, normally 29". Oxford only has one 'regular' leg length of 32" but I can live with that.
Whilst the Oxford knee protection can be moved using velcro tabs, it would be nice if a wider range of protector movement was possible, but this seems to be a common observation on biker trousers. My wife is a great seamstress so I might see if she can adjust this.
