Advice & Guides If it feels like armour in your bike kit then the law demands it is actually proper, protective armour. Here's how to tell how effective your impact protection is...
Customers highlight the Alpinestars T SP R Drystar trousers as a stylish and functional choice for motorcyclists. They blend textile and leather qualities, offering sports aesthetics without committing to full leather. However, some find sizing inconsistent and note issues with fitting boots due to excess material. Despite these concerns, customers appreciate the good ventilation, comfort, and protective features, making them a recommended pick for sport-touring riders seeking weather adaptability and racing style flair.
Absolutely made up with these textile jeans a nice tailored sporty fit and top quality.
Best trousers I have had so far
Been for Scotland 2 weeks, did the job. Kept me dry and warm. Also i was always struggling to find a trouser which is not too baggy on the bottom. This ticket all the boxes. Has a waterproof pocket for a phone.
Quality from alpinestars, super comfortable, removable lining.
These are a nice snug fit, I wear my boots over and they’re not bulky or uncomfortable. Highly recommended
Bought this for my other half and he loves it, these do run small but we used the measurements on the site to check the correct size we needed. Great customer service too.
You'll need to do the trouser dance, getting them on, but once in position, very comfortable, and while just a tad long, that's more to do with me being a tad short than anything else. Was looking for something that had sports bike vibes but not leather, and this seems to be in a category of one. Not overly expensive either.
Nice looking pair of trousers with a sporting look, very warm with a removable lining for the summer use. I d recommend going up one size they are a little under sized
Purchased these Alpinestars trousers as it gives me the option to mix and match with my other gear. Sporty feel but comfortable. Returned the first pair due to snugness but Sportsbike shop had a bigger size delivered within days as a replacement
Great pair of riding pants, have used these on and off road since purchasing and they’re great. Ive tested them down to 0 degrees and can confirm that my legs stayed lovely and warm also. Only pointer would be to size up as they’re a little on the tight side
So I was in the market for a new set of textiles. I ride all year round on my Kawasaki ZX4-RR which I guess is a road derived sports bike. Most textile trousers, particularly those which are waterproof and insulated are aimed at the touring/adventure crew. In my opinion these trousers are big, bulky and ugly, and feel horrible to wear on a bike which the position isn't bolt upright.
We recently had really heavy rain where, my now old textiles, failed and I got wet! They were the RST Tractech Evo 5 textile jacket and the RST S1 textile trousers. Both sport bike cut ish.
I was mainly looking at Rukka laminated jackets but each offering being a grand or more and didn't suit the specification I wanted and so I thought better of it. I've also always pined after Alpinestars clothing, particularly when I was a teenager, but haven't really been able to afford it. Anyway, being lucky enough where I can afford Alpinestars now I took a punt on these trousers and wow, what a difference. The way they're cut, the way they fits, the lightness of them, the way they feel and look. Night and day difference to RST. They just feel way more premium, its hard to explain until you feel and see them for yourself. They has kept me dry and warm - so far...
Bottom line, I would definitely recommend these trousers. Go up a size though!!
Look and feel great, fit tight so I sized up and perfect. Sizing up also helps fitting over larger boots.
Fits nicely in my adventure boots and comfy like a motocross trouser. Haven't tested waterproof yet.
Fit really well and stood up to some really heavy rain, very comfortable
My first motorcycle trousers and I love them! They're slick, sexy and fit nicely. However I would say size up if you have athletic build legs
Comes up a little small , I'm normally a medium, & mine are a large , & perfect fit
I got these drystar trousers to match my jacket and they’re perfect allrounders.
Good protection, comfortable and plenty adjustment. I can fit them over my Alpinestars SMX-6 boots with ease. Good ventilation on the legs and the removable liner has made them useable in the recent heatwave we’ve had!
So far 0 complaints, hopefully they’re as waterproof as they say. Overall a great buy
The Alpinestars T SP R Drystar trousers offer a compelling blend of sport styling, flexible weather performance, and solid protection. They re perfect for riders who want near-race aesthetics without the commitment of leather. Just be ready to size up and tweak boot combinations.
If you value a sporty profile with waterproof and thermal capabilities and don t mind fiddling with fit a strong recommendation.
Best suited for: Sport-touring riders who want racing flair with practical features. Not ideal if you want a no-fuss, on-off boot fit or true leather feel.
They're acceptable riding trousers, comfortable and well made, but if you want a trouser that you can tuck into your boots this isn't them, they're too long and there's too much material around the ankle, even if you roll them up. I found the sizing true to size and the service from SBS second to none.
