Oxford Aquatex Bike Cover
Customer Product Reviews
Good but not great
Quick delivery and good price from Sportsbikeshop. Bought cover to use on bike tour in uk. lightweight and fits bike ok. Reasonably waterproof so all good so far. The reason for just average score is after first or second use, def no more than that, I noticed a small tear, about the size of 10p piece. Patched up with duct tape, so I question the robustness and long term use of the product... The other annoying thing is the under restraining strap is not very long which makes fastening awkward if it is a little bit windy. Would I recommend? For occasional touring use yes, long term use I have my doubts....
Buy this cover!
This is a brilliant piece of kit, it does exactly what you'd expect an outdoor cover to do, so I won't bore you with that! I like that it has elasticated sections on the hem, where the front and rear wheels are located. This makes putting the cover in place a doddle - previous covers I've used have a drawstring & toggle, which can be a pain in the proverbial if you're in a hurry. Good cover, fair price, what more can I say?
Excellent lightweight cover.
I bought this cover for travel purposes as it is light and packs quite small. It is a robust cover that has stood up to some very strong winds and rain and totally covers my Moto Guzzi California 1400 Touring although I would recommend using additional straps during extremely high winds. I don't think it is suitable as an everyday outdoor cover but there are other products in the Oxford range for those that don't have a garage.
This is about my third Aquatex cover in 5 years, there's a reason I stick with them, and it's that they are great! Affordable and keeps the sun and rain off, when they are new and for about first 6 months they keep all rain off up to a heavy downpour, once they get a bit weathered they do loose some waterproofing and only seem to work up to a medium shower. Think of the Aquatex as a spring to Autumn cover, you will need something a bit more substantial through winter. I also have an oxford stormex cover and tend to us that through the wetter/winter months.
Great oxford product
First class service as always from sports bike, Bought xl with box for a gsx1250fa Cover is pretty thin, as you'd expect from a light weight cover, great for folding up and keeping in the top box or panniers, might even fit under a spacious seat, hole for chain in front is a bonus, elastic round bottom works well, good strong strap, great fit, and does the job with ease, don't fit it till exhaust is cool or you will melt it, recommended
Perfect cover for covered use
My motorcycle is parked outdoors but in a covered location so this cover fits the bill perfectly! I would not want to use this cover if my bike was parked on the road or on a drive way. You need the Oxford Stormex for that! Great little cover - makes a good touring/travel cover too.
