The label inside your boots will tell you about what tests they've gone through, and how they did. Here's how to decipher those labels for yourself...
I've already got some merlin gear, so I half knew I wouldn't be disappointed. Excellent quality as normal, comfortable straight out the box.
Once again great service from Sportsbikeshop.
These boots are very good quality and very comfortable. Haven't tested them in the wet yet.
These boots are a very high quality product with obvious abrasive protection in the event of an accident. The comfort is also second to none. I purchased these also because of the very solid soles. Having a short inside leg means I have to take care in my choice of footwear to maximise safety and control. If you also need a motorcycle boot that can double as daywear, plus look smart, then these are an ideal choice. As a rule I would choose a half or one size up from your normal size to allow for winter riding socks or layers. As with any leather product, waterproofing can be improved with careful application of a nourishing solution such as dubbin or similar.
Style, comfort and practicality. These boots are a step above the competition, providing the motorcyclist with a quality product at an attractive price. More magic from Merlin!
Had these for a few weeks now, once worn in they are very comfortable and interacting with the controls on the bike are effortless.
Haven't tried them in the wet yet but I don't doubt the claims of being waterproof.
Pro's
- Sturdy and well built
- Comfortable both on an off the bike
- Look like an expensive pair of branded walking boots but with added bonus of protection.
- No one will know they are biking boots
Cons
- The shifter pad on the left boot will show signs of wear after a while (hopefully leather treatment products will alleviate this).
- Your feet will get warm in the summer, this is due to the enclosed design. Not so bad when on the bike due to the rush of air. Not so great when walking but then again I prefer colder weather.
Wanted boots that I could wear with textiles or Kevlar jeans after my old boots died , these fitted the bill perfectly .
Good solid quality construction and all day comfortable even when walking for long periods in Whitby.
Highly recommended.
Some of the comfiest boots I have worn and very sturdy
I took a small gamble on buying these boots having not actually seen them or tried them on. It was worth it. These a fantastic quality boots that are well protected but do not look like your overly styled MC boots.
Waterproof, comfy and great value for what they are. Would recommend to anyone!
I thought theses boots were a little tight at first but they soon moulded nicely to my feet. More room was created by removing the complimentary insole. I have worn these through the day and they were comfortable for walking throughout and performed well on the bike.
The suede finish tends to go a bit shiny on the left protector strip. (But that is what it it is there for.)
Very well made, I'd buy them again.
