The Merlin clothing collection offers a comprehensive range of motorcycle gear, all designed here in the UK. Although a relatively new brand, the team behind Merlin have a combined experience of over 50 years in the design and manufacture of the highest quality bike kit. During this time the team have sold more than 300,000 pieces of motorcycle kit worldwide, and have worked with some of the very best MotoGP, WSB and BSB equivalent riders. Upon close inspection of the clothing range, you'll notice some subtle differences that really help to set it apart from its competitors, such as the use of world renowned Wax Cotton from Halley Stevensons of Dundee in their wax jacket range.

Having returned a cheaper brand of mesh trousers to another retailer, I splashed the extra cash on these. Very wise move, the difference in quality was like night and day. These jeans are very well made and the ventilation is excellent. The side adjusters actually hold the tousers up, and have plenty of adjustment. The zips are high quality, the stichting spot on. They take armour at hips and knees - coming with level 1 at knees - I subsequently fitted level 2 in both sections. Finally they do not look like baggy clown pants, and sizing is true to size.

Lovely to wear because it's so supple and soft unlike most leather jackets. I wanted a brown that's natural looking and this is perfect. Definitely worth a try.

The lamination is great, it's still a little warm and doesn't come with back armour but it's built for more outdoorsy rides anyways, mesh is still best for summer.

Went for a longish ride on a very hot and humid day and was very happy with the comfort and ventilation provided by this jacket which kept me reasonably cool throughout the ride. I hope never to have to report on the protective qualities of the jacket but it does seem to me to be very well made and with D30 protection in the elbows, shoulders and back.
