Advice & Guides The label inside your boots will tell you about what tests they've gone through, and how they did. Here's how to decipher those labels for yourself...

Customers are generally satisfied with these boots, appreciating their comfort and versatility for both riding and walking. Many highlight the boots' lightweight nature and sufficient protection, though some mention the need for a larger size than usual. The lacing system, although functional, receives mixed reviews, with excess lace being a common issue. Despite a few concerns regarding durability and price, customers find them stylish and recommend them for light riding activities. Overall, these boots meet expectations for casual riding needs.
I have owed many pairs of different boots for my bikes over the years and I have never been comfortable wearing any of them, some were too ankle restricted and others just uncomfortable to walk in but nnow with these CR-X drystar's they're everything that I've been looking for all long short motorcycle boots that feel like you're wearing trainers, absolutely brilliant
Review: Alpinestars CR-X Drystar Riding Shoes – Black / Black
After several months of use, the Alpinestars CR-X Drystar Riding Shoes have easily become my go-to footwear for everyday riding. What stands out immediately is how comfortable they are both on and off the bike. Unlike many riding shoes that feel stiff or awkward when walking, these genuinely feel like a good pair of trainers. Whether I’m commuting, stopping for coffee, or walking around town after parking the bike, they’re easy to move in and never feel like a compromise.
The construction quality is exactly what you’d expect from Alpinestars. The materials feel durable and well-finished, the stitching is solid, and everything about them gives the impression they’re built to last. The Drystar membrane is also reassuring for typical British weather—light rain hasn’t been an issue, and my feet have stayed dry without the shoes feeling overly hot.
Comfort is another big win. The sole has just the right amount of support and flexibility, which makes them great for longer days where you’re both riding and walking. They feel protective without being bulky, which is something a lot of riding footwear struggles to balance.
If I had one suggestion for improvement, it would be the gear-shift reinforcement area. While it does the job, it could be a little thicker or more robust to better protect the shoe from wear over time, especially for riders who commute daily and shift frequently.
Overall, the CR-X Drystar shoes strike an excellent balance between protection, comfort, and everyday usability. They’re ideal for riders who want proper riding footwear that doesn’t need to be swapped out the moment they step off the bike. Comfortable, well-built, and versatile—an easy recommendation.
Perfect fit. Water proof for moderate rain. It's lasted a long time and still going.
These boots fit so well and are really comfortable. A great casual look
Highly recommend these Alpinestars boots, they are really comfortable. Sizes are spot on as what you’d expect.
SBS service is still the best out there!! Stock and delivery they can’t be beaten.
Highly recommend this. Worth every penny
really comfortable and great looking boots! Just make sure u check yr uk size! I am a 7.5 uk and ordered a 41 which was perfect.
Went 1 size up and glad I did, the most comfortable boots I've had, good price and great service as always
I honestly think these shoes are awesome and have quickly become my go-to riding footwear. Straight out of the box, they’re comfortable, well-finished, and feel premium. The fit is snug and supportive, especially around the ankle, without being restrictive. Walking in them feels natural, which isn’t something you can say about a lot of riding boots.
The Drystar waterproofing actually works—they handle rain and wet roads well, keeping your feet dry without feeling sweaty or stuffy. Grip is solid both on the bike and when walking, and the sole feels stiff enough to inspire confidence on the pegs while still being flexible enough for daily use.
These shoes deliver exactly what they promise: everyday comfort, solid protection, and all-weather usability. They’re ideal for commuters, casual riders, or anyone who wants a single pair of shoes that works on and off the bike. If you’re looking for a riding shoe that doesn’t force compromises, the CR-X Drystar is a great choice.
These are a great fit, comfortable short boot, very good quality.
Good quality addition to my riding gear. Comfy as any pair of slippers. However! Took a rock or small boulder in the toe area flicked back at me off a quarry truck(left a huge gap between us so no wasn't travelling too close blah blah) and discovered could really do with a bit more of a sturdier toe section as i thought I'd broken my toe and it damaged the boot. Good job I wasn't in flip flops that day.?
Great boots, surprisingly waterproof. Needed a size up from usual.
Very comfortable, like riding in trainers
Great for all day wear. Nice looking too, easy to get in and out. Lacing is easy too.
Due to work load I have not put the boots to good use as of yet. Size picked fits like a glove. Just waiting to get out on my bike to see if the boots perform as good as they look.
Really good fitting shoes. Ample protection. I found that I had to go up half-a-UK-size for best fit.
I really dig these shoes. They're stylish, comfy for walking and riding. I gotta say, I really enjoy 'em. The only "problem" I haven't figured out yet are the laces. I prefer just slipping into my bike shoes and going, not spending time trying to figure out where to put the laces so it's safe to ride. But maybe that's just me....still giving 5 stars for design, comfort, practical, and waterproof aspects.
These shoes are as comfy as you'd want. They fit really well, but you do need to go up a size. They keep my feet toasty warm and are waterproof. The lacing system is a new one for me but now I've been using the boots for a month I really like the lacing system. The protection is top notch for the gear change and ankles and the soles are very grippy. I could quite easily walk round with them on all day.
The boots are comfortable straight out of the box
The laces are easy and the strap hold tight.
The design makes these boots as at home on the street as on the bike and the protection speaks for itself.
I’ve done 100 miles in these already on the bike no issues and worn them all day too.
I’d definitely recommend and will buy these boots again.
