Boots are comfortable enough to walk in when off the bike. I bought these for using off the bike when not riding all day and needing to walk around. They provide basic protection on the bike as they cover the ankle and are an upgrade from hiking or safety boots. They do keep your feet dry when walking on wet and muddy trails but I haven't used them in heavy rain so cannot vouch for how waterproof they would be riding in monsoon weather. I normally wear full length bike boots but these are easier and more comfortable to walk in if you are sight seeing, jumping on and off the bike rather than riding all the time. Good value biking boots for those who don't want to have to change into casual footwear when they get to their destination.
