Wore these straight out of the box on a 500 mile two day tour and had absolutely no issues at all, that should tell you all you need to know. Admittedly it didn’t rain, so I can’t vouch for the waterproof qualities but on the other hand it was 30 degrees and my feet didn’t overheat. Comfortable from the off, though I have changed the insole to a more cushioned type, went up a size too as they are a more narrow fit than my previous Alpinstars.
