After spending about an hour at the boston store trying 3 different barnds provided by the very helpful staff, I opted for the X-lite 903. Having worn it for over 1,500 mile I am pleased that I did.
It's comfortable, quiet (particularly when in free air out of turbulence - note :I wear earplugs)
The easy removable visor and lining are very useful and the drop down sun visor is easy to use and effective. I subsequently bought a nolan intercom which fits perfectly.

Comfy but noisy

Nicely made and a comfy fit for my head shape. However, after my previous Shoei helmets this one is just too noisy and I cannot recommend it.

This is the second X-lite helmet that I have owned . My previous one was the X-551
The improved X-552 has certainly raised the bar. The internal visor comes down nice and low and is easy to operate. The visor has a really solid and positive adjustment mechanism.
You get a good field of view and the peak is nice and solid with not much vibration.
It's not the quietest of helmets but wear earplugs and the noise level is acceptable.
Build quality is top notch. The interior padding is very comfortable and adjustable which is great. I'm very pleased with the helmet.
Sportsbikeshop staff as usual were very helpful and friendly.

I tried my friends x lite x 903 on and wanted one instantly, I had a Arai RX7V which for me found a little heavy and noisy. The x-lite is so comfortable and love the visor system and very easy to take the interior out. Just need to fit the N com 601 when I buy it which also looks very easy to do, top marks to sportsbikeshop from ordering to my house in the Isle of Man 2 days
