Motorcycle Ground Anchors
The ultimate bolt down anchors
Oxford Ground Anchor
Excellent product that's remarkably straightforward to install and solidly made. The bike is now securely chained in my shed and should give the crims all sorts of bother should they try to half inch it. I initially found the anchor cheaper elsewhere but I used the Sportsbikeshop price match feature and received a discount code within 24 hours. Premium product and service from the number 1 supplier online of motorcycle-related items.Read more
Solid product, couple of issues
Bought the Oxford Rota Force Ground Anchor to use in the garage when the bike is not in use. Initial thoughts were very positive, substantial piece of kit along with a hefty weight. Holes marked and drilled then started installing. One word of caution - make sure you drill the final holes a little deeper than the instructions tell you to. All 4 bolts tightened and this is when I noticed chips of blue paint had started to come off. This also occurred when fitting the anti-theft ball bearings and covers. This wasn't a rush job either. Slightest tap and the paint chipped off. Overall feels like a quality product and hopefully will fulfill its intended function if anybody tries to take my pride and joy. Maybe Oxford should consider a different external coating in future.Read more
A Big Thing
Let's be honest, stopping a determined thief is probably impossible, but we try to make the process so noisy and time consuming that the thief decides to leave your bike alone and go else where. I see this device as part of a package of deterrence. When viewing the web pictures of the ground anchor it was difficult to gain a sense of proportion. Once removed from the box it became clear that this is a large solid bit of kit. I can't comment on the type and strength of the metal used, but it would clearly take quite a beating before it gave up. The other thing that became apparent was that the hole, through which your security chain is looped, is big enough to take the biggest chains currently on the market. Digging this anchor out of the floor would clearly take time and make a lot of noise - something that the thieving bilge rats don't like to do!.. Coming from a security back-ground, I would suggest placing it up against another solid object, like a concrete post or the wall of the garage/room where the bike is stored. This makes it very difficult to get a sledge hammer to it, or cutting gear around it. Overall I was impressed by the construction of this and feel confident that removing my bike from my garage would be a lot more difficult. Very impressed.Read more
