Oxford Original Approved AA Ridgeback Shirt - Black

I like the aesthetic of this shirt and the overall fit and finish are good. I normally wear L in riding shirts but having tried this on in store, found M the better fit. Now for things i didn't like, The lower press studs are metal and are not given a rubber coating to protect your tank. The Oxford Level 2 Dynamic shoulder and elbow armour is not as flexible as i would have liked, certainly no where near as flexible as D30 Ghost armour. It's thicker and less malleable than the aforementioned which results in my elbows protruding like wings when i flex. I also found the shoulder armour crept forward down the front of my shoulder when wearing, i believe this is caused by the armour pocket being made of a thin elasticated type material. I bought the optional Oxford Dynamic back protector which fits the back compartment perfectly and is comfortable to wear but is too short in my opinion. It only covers my upper and middle back and not my lower back which I would have preferred.

Given the textile strength & inner faux wool, it's more like a Shacket than a Shirt, which I totally love with either a T or base layer depending on the Scottish weather, which has been pretty damn good.

Fit was bang on for me with L / 42" chest, although only 2 rides & four hours in whilst it is still a bit firm, it is comfortable, with the reassurance of the protection.

Is versatile to wear either on the bike with the armour or like I have done is yank it out to wear as a wee casual fash number.

Super value for money, looks great, fit for purpose so between the Oxford product & SBS service as always, I highly recommend.

Quality is excellent even before considering the price point. Looks great on and off the bike also. Good fit and I bought the level 2 back protection to add to the jacket also.
