Advice & Guides The internal sun visor on a sports-touring helmet delivers versatility for use in all conditions
Customers are overwhelmingly satisfied with the helmet, praising its perfect fit, comfort, and lightweight design. The inflatable cheek pads and quiet ride are highlighted features, with many comparing it favorably to previous brands. The helmet's aerodynamic design ensures reduced wind noise while riding. Customers appreciate the value for money, noting features like integrated sun visors and removable padding. Overall, it's a well-recommended helmet that combines functionality with appealing aesthetics, meeting diverse needs effectively.
This is the 2nd Scorpion Exo helmet that I have owned. My other is an enduro helmet. Both are extremely light & an excellent fit (57cm-58cm medium), both with the inflation system. The Exo 1400 Evo II is very quiet with great aerodynamics.
Nice looking lid. Seems a little snug at first and wondered if I should have got large instead of medium but after wearing a couple of times fits perfectly. Dont find this to be at all noisy like some people had mentioned. The sun visor and the inflatable cheeks is an added bonus. Very pleased with purchase and also cheaper than alot of other carbon helmets I have seen but quality is still on par if not better. Excellent service from SBS as always.
Love the weight of the helmet, feel secure and protected. Comms unit (Cardo Freecom) fits perfectly and has all the features of a more expensive helmet. Does what it says and pin-lock works perfectly and plenty of ventilation. Wear ear plugs as the wind noise is noticeable
The previous Scorpion Exo 1400 helmet had only scratches although I had a concussion after a road traffic accident. The current version of this helmet is slightly heavier and is a very tight fit but I am hoping that it performs as well as its previous version should it be put to the ultimate test.
Tried quite a few different makes of helmet, all sorts of sizes and settled with this.really light and comfortable with good range of vision, race visor also supplied. Would definitely recommend. Well worth the money
Shoei changed the shell size and shape so the nxr2 wouldn’t fit for a start but the price certainly made me question it.
The exo is a Quality helmet with great sound insulation that is better even with a aftermarket comm attached on the side (barely hear wind noise from it even when turning my head) compared to the more expensive composite shoei nxr without comms fitted, and I always heard a very noticeable wind noise with the comm attached with that helmet.
Fitting a comms device is possible and isn’t too hard or dissimilar to a nxr for size of speakers. luckily ive not bad to put a hole in the interior like I had to on a shark or only one place a wire could go without altering the nxr.
The feel of the materials is good, not too much on the skull cap so in summer you’ll get more air flow. The vents do have a nice positive action to them and work well but not too blustery or uncontrolled airflow.
The neoprene like chin curtain is very effective at draught control, greater than the nxr mesh. For removing it needed a lot of effort to the point I thought it was secured with poppins as the inner shell moved slightly too but it’s just longer tabs so it’s not coming out when putting on or off or dropping out by accident like it could do with the nxr.
The two visors (clears and tinted) are medium firmness so not so ridged like a hjc nor flexes like shoei / arai of old while still being optically great.
The highest level of pinlock is a great addition and worth it.
Ive gotten used to the centre locking mechanism, is simple and not as awkward like some other I looked at before.
I like the idea of the mid level lever drop down visor as it’s easier to add comms or less likely to be caught on by trying to get it on, off, putting it down or, access to something Its action is smooth and simple.
I’ve had mixed results with drop down tinted visors in the past. The drop is very low but not to the absolute very bottom of the rim which for me works well.
Its tint is light to medium, as-long as you don't want the drop down tinted visor to be the sole use to block out a lot of the light in one go (black out), this is a broader use to combine with either visors for stages of tint. This will split people of their wants or expectations but I actually like it more.
I’ve not needed to use the cheek bladder system but no doubt in a few years when the internal foams start to be compressed it will give the helmet a bit longer lifespan.
Tried on half a dozen helmets and whilst some were good I ended up buying the same helmet (although they had made some minor improvements) as I’ve been using for last five years. It fits like a glove, wind noise is minimal and is just so comfy and light I can’t fault it. Great value too!
Awesome helmet. Really light weight, smaller shell than my previous helmets. On the road it's quiet, view of the road seems wider, smooth airflow (riding s1000r) on a naked bike. Delivery was next day and in perfect condition.
Great helmet nice fit, very comfortable even with longer rides
Fits good, light, previous one 6 years no issues. Excellent price. Many many years with arai helmets.. but prices crazy. Scorpions pneumatic fit is very good. What's not to like ?
I called in at Sportsbikeshop (Leeds) as I desperately needed a new helmet. I wasn t disappointed with the choice of helmets in stock to try on, I wasn t just buying a helmet online without trying it on as it s too individual. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the Scorpion Exo fitted like a glove over some other brands, so I ordered and it arrived the next day! Fantastic service!!
The helmet feels fantastic quality for a £300 lid, has great ventilation, integrated sun visor which I used for the full ride with no issues and it looks amazing! Very happy with the Scorpion helmet and the customer service from sportsbikeshop!
It was time for me to buy a new helmet, I’ve alway used one particular make but thought I would have change. After try a few different make I found this has the loads of clearance for my ears and with the pump up check pads I could get it to fit even better
Extremely comfortable compared to other brands
I originally ordered a size L which unfortunately didn’t fit, I was unaware they had a shop so close to my address so I dropped in and enquired about exchanging for a different size, the team at the Birmingham branch were more than helpful in helping me out, they gave me great advice about the particular helmet that I had and found me a XL that fit perfectly, a shop I will definitely return to for my leathers that I need to buy next
Took a while to find a helmet that was a good fit but this one is good. It's light comfortable fairly quiet and I like the air pump to squeeze in the cheek pads. Not sure I'll have use of the dark visor but it's there if needed. Looks good too.
The helmet has plenty cushioning, it's first helmet I've owned that I actually feel the secure feeling at the back of my head as well as front, rear feels good,
mechanism for visor swaps lightweight
looks good
Wind tunnel noise
Air rushing to ears
Great product
Helmet is really light and a lot quieter than my HJC Rpha11 and gives me a great field of view Fit is perfect thanks to the help of the store manager at Reading who was superb. Won t make the mistake of buying a helmet without getting an expert to ensure correct fit again.
