Fits me perfectly and turns out good on wind resistance and water proofing. The neck velcro could be longer as it won't reach around when you are wearing a buff.
Plenty of pockets and the zippers work great.

I've always bought alpinestars jackets and loved the comfort and assured protection they gave. This one is on a new level even more comfort from the neck down. The zip is so much easier to do up having a chunkier zipper and I can't describe how more movement you get in your elbows with no hard protectors. I love the new softer ones. The fabric of the jacket is great too. It keeps me warm in the cold and dry in the rain. I like the longer back too. I am not ready to take the liner out yet. All in I'm so glad I brought it after trying it on I could not send it back.

Derived from a combination of MX and street motorcycling design. The new SMX Waterproof Jacket incorporates elements of MX design when it comes to the jacket's materials, sport fit and graphics, together with performance features from road riding such as the External DFS lite shoulder, and the waterproof membrane that provides additional protection for all-weather riding. With a main chassis constructed with 600D poly-fabric and stretch softshell for the optimal blend of durability, light weight and comfort, this jacket features subtly incorporated class-leading Nucleon Flex Plus armour for proven impact protection. The SMX jacket has a fixed waterproof membrane for proven wet weather performance, and has a detachable thermal liner, allowing it to be easily adapted to the weather conditions for real world versatility.
