The right choice for me

It took a while to decide on the correct jacket, but the Bennet's review on the different systems and standards helped. I wanted an untethered jacket but with chest protection. The Helite is poor in this respect. Alpinestars manual and website have two different size charts, so the SBS sizing is right for me over a Knox armoured vest. Fitting is a little loose (XL) but works over a fitted jacket as well. In practice, the canister over the left kidney isn't noticeable. I hope I don't get to use it ...

A good compromise

I returned to biking a couple of years ago and a bought(was sold-not by SB) my first airbag vest, an Alpinestars TechAir5, I find that unit causes some issues with over jacket comfort due to the "between the shoulders " moulding. The TrchAir3 isn't as well designed (you can easily see some electronics when accessing the charge port) but it doesn't pose that problem and despite offering a little less protection it's my preferred option.
