 Advice & Guides
Advice & Guides If it feels like armour in your bike kit then the law demands it is actually proper, protective armour. Here's how to tell how effective your impact protection is...

I needed a decent, warm and windproof jacket for scootering in colder weather and after Googling various bomber jackets I decided to opt for this ARMR jacket. Then I narrowed it down to the best price and yet again Sportsbikeshop came up trumps.
I had already bought my helmet, jeans, gloves, protection and wax jacket from here before, in the Boston shop, so I know they value great customer service. So without hesitation I opted to order the jacket, and additional back protection, from them.
The jacket comes supplied with shoulder and elbow protection and plenty of pockets. There's two zip-up pockets on the front that are deep enough for a wallet or phone, plus a deep internal, velcro-fastening pocket. Finally, and just like the bomber jackets from the 80s, there is a small pocket on the arm together with pen pockets.
This is a seriously good cold weather jacket. Its thermal lining is more than enough to keep me warm in temperatures in single figures, definitely helped by the windproof outer. Finally, the neck and cuffs are soft and comfortable.
Regarding the sizing - it's spot on. I usually wear Large, but I wanted to go one size up to XL, so I could wear more layers underneath if needed, and that's perfect.
I'd definitely recommend this jacket.
Really pleased with this jacket, really comfortable and looks good whilst retaining decent safety aspects and a great price as well.
I measured my chest size as about 40 relaxed and about 42 breathing in so I chose a L size. It fits just nice and comfortable over a t shirt with rugby shirt and I could wear a bit more underneath, so just right for me. The permanent orange lining is cosy for our weather so far this year (just going into autumn). I find that the jacket easily slips on and off, great. The armour shoulders and elbows is not intrusive, I had thought of removing it to give the jacket a more normal relaxed appearance and feel for casual use but I don’t need to. The neck line is high and doesn’t have a neck strap (because it is bomber style, correctly) but a simple neck muffler fits comfortably to keep wind out. The cuffs are nicely compact so my gloves fit over easily (more so than on my full motorcycle jacket).
I don’t ride much in the wet so sorry I can’t comment on waterproofing. The material seems good strong textile and the manufacturing standard seems excellent. The zips are substantial. Be aware that bomber style means only one internal Velcro closed pocket and two external hand warmer pockets with good zips. I find I use an external pocket for my phone when I have wallet and crossword puzzle book in the inside pocket, all ok. External pen pocket on the shoulder is a nice design feature but I don’t use it.
It does have internal back pocket for back protector if u want to buy as extra.
Overall I really like my new jacket for nipping around on small scooter, feels much better than wearing my full motorcycle jacket, but I will probably use it occasionally for biking as well.
The price on offer was excellent making this great value for money. Delivery prompt as well. Thanks Sportsbikeshop.
Comfy with good pockets, Decent protection and has pocket for back protection I'm well pleased with the purchase. recommend it
Made with quality materials and is an excellent fit. Feel so comfortable both walking and riding
I got this reduced to £79.99 because I wanted something light weight for a trip to London in the warm weather.
It's quilted but not too much so you overheat. It has elbow and shoulder protection and a pocket at the back for a back protector if you want one.
I got the XL size which is a good fit with enough room for a jumper If it gets chilly.
I rode from Bradford to London and back and only wore a t-shirt underneath and wasn't at all cold.
It handled the drizzly weather very well but I don't think it would be any good in any heavier rain.
Great value at that price and just what I was looking for. A really comfy lightweight jacket. Also comes in khaki green which would suit the scooter boys.
I usually wear a casual bomber jacket on the scooter in the early morning. I wanted something a bit more protective, which I could also wear on the strom. As I'm a tight old bugger I have to get value, when I part with my money. For this reason I wanted something I could wear as casual when off the bike. I did not like the bright red logo on the chest, but have removed this successfully by slowly unpicking the cotton attaching it. Job done.
Stylish jacket with usual armour and waterproof quality. Fits snuggly without being tight, nicely lined with ample pockets. Have purchased several Armr products and all good quality at an affordable price.
Comfy with good pockets, I'm well pleased with the purchase. Comfy... recommend it
