The label inside your boots will tell you about what tests they've gone through, and how they did. Here's how to decipher those labels for yourself...
First the look. They remind me of 90s army desert boots. They feel similar as well. They were ok to walk in from the start but have broken in so are fine now. The sloe is quite thick so may cause some issue with gear change. Mine was fine but the feel of changing gear is different to normal thinner soled boots. I love the style and the fact they are higher than other urban / workbook style boots. The uppers are deceptively thick so any skinny jeans wearing posers might struggle to get the bottoms of their trousers over them. But overall they are exactly what I wanted in a pair of boots
Very comfortable from the first fit. Easy to get on and off. Supplied with a second set of long laces if you don't want to use the zip up system. Great to walk and ride in and have flexed and softened at the ankle very quickly. Have proved to be waterproof in a couple of very heavy showers bear in mind this is a shortish boot. Like a lot of modern footwear the EU sizes can be a minefield. 46 was a bit tight on me where 47 is a touch big but have been fine and allow for thick socks if used in the winter. CE marked but mostly class 1. A compromise I was prepared to accept as a trade off for all the good points. Currently discounted to a good price, Green/khaki may not be everyone's choice but Black is available. A very good touring boot.
