Klim K Forty 2 Denim Jeans - Indigo

This is my second pair of Klim K Forty 2 jeans. I bought the new pair because I have lost weight, not because there was anything wrong with the old pair in terms of comfort or wear.

As riding jeans go, these are genuinely excellent. They are incredibly comfortable, look like normal jeans, and are easy to wear both on and off the bike. The stretch in the denim makes a big difference, especially on longer rides, and they do not feel stiff, bulky or awkward like some riding jeans can. For casual road riding, touring stops, commuting, or just wearing around without looking like you are in full bike gear, they are superb.

The protection package is also good on paper. They are CE AA rated and come with D3O Ghost armour in the knees and hips. The armour is thin and discreet, which is part of why the jeans are so comfortable.

However, Klim still has not fixed the knee armour pocket issue.

I had this problem with my previous pair and reported it to Klim, so I was disappointed to find the 2026 pair is the same. The knee armour simply does not sit where it should. Even with adjustment, the pocket position feels wrong on the knee. It is not just me either; other riders have reported the same thing online - check reddit or even Fortnines reviews online.

That is frustrating because the jeans themselves are otherwise outstanding. The material, comfort, cut, styling and general feel are all exactly what I want from riding jeans. They are so close to being perfect, but knee armour position is not a minor detail. It is the bit you actually need to be in the right place if the worst happens. :(

I still rate them highly because they are probably the most comfortable riding jeans I have owned, and I like them enough to buy them again. But Klim really does need to listen to the feedback and redesign the knee armour pockets. Yet again, I'll have to pay £40 to a local seamstress to have the pockets moved.

Brilliant jeans, let down by one annoying but important design flaw.
