Klim K Forty 3 Denim Jeans - Indigo

I love Klim gear and own a lot of it (over £10k of it), but the knee armour positioning on the K Forty jeans is a real let-down. The jeans come as standard with D3O Ghost L1 - comfortable, but in my case the armour sat too far inboard and didn’t cover my knee properly in a riding position - it was between my knee and the tank.

I tried swapping to D3O Diablo L2 for the slight cup shape, which helped slightly, but the lack of backing material makes them clammy as you’re generally wearing jeans over bare skin. There’s no Velcro adjustment and altering the mesh liner only made the pocket tight when bending the knee.

I’m now having the armour pockets professionally moved an inch outward to fix it. Given the price, this is poor design, and plenty of riders online report the same issue.

Overall I’ll keep the jeans as they are incredibly comfortable - when you ride without knee armour, which kinda defeats the point of spending £300 on a pair of riding jeans!
