 Advice & Guides
Advice & Guides You'd be surprised how many riders wear a helmet that's too big for them. Here's how to tell if a lid really fits you...

Took a long time to find a helmet that fit my funny shaped head, needing an XS compared to the previous 1400's S.
Scorpions newest touring/sports helmet. Outside shell is a composite structure and has a styled shape with adequate but effective venting, though limited to just the 2 front openings. Internal linings are snug and ear space is generous, fitting my elephant lobes well even with head phones. The helmet has removable covers for where speakers can fit for a comms unit and the outside has a capped port where one can be mounted. Being so new to the market, compatible comms and mounts are hard to identify at the moment. Internal sun visor as well but had no need yet to use it.
2 visors are in the box, clear and smoke tinted, but you only get 1 pinlock insert that you fit yourself on either of the visors. It is a 120 and it works flawlessly as it rained during the CBT but the visor never fogged up. Also noticed that there was very little ingress of water anywhere. had the visor not fully closed at one point doing 30+ and no rain or damp patches on the padding.
Does well in strong gusty cross winds and wind noise is low to moderate, though my experience is limited as this is the first helmet.
Though mid-range pricing, a very good first helmet to get.
Love the extra depth of the sun visor, great improvement. Very light too, which is great on long journeys.
Bought two Scorpion Exo-GT SP Air-Flex helmets for my hubby and myself , ready for next year's tour .
We chose these as our previous helmets were also Scorpion carbon ones .
The fit is so comfortable and consistent across different models .
The integral internal sun visor has 2 positions and covers well .
This helmet has a very nice titanium double D fastening . I do not like the new fangled ratchet fastenings on helmets as they always sit uncomfortable across my throat . So few helmets have the double D these days .
Lastly I love the look/design of this helmet , the blue flashes change colour in different lights . It can look blue , sometimes green and sometimes purple . You can't tell this from the stock photos , but it looks fabulous !
Great helmet at this price point . Light weight, and a quality product , padding feels very comfortable and with the air system you can "tweek" the fit ! Pinlock & tinted visor included . There's also a drop down sun visor too . Front vents let loads of air in . The matt blue is eye catching to.
Excellent helmet fits perfectly very light and great visibility. The staff at the Reading store that helped me (sorry I didn't catch your names) were all so helpful they even changed my intercom system over for me this is my new favourite store
I love the look and feel of the helmet on, the maty finish really makes it look fantastic and it's very comfortable to wear. As a new rider it's definitely the perfect helmet for me.
So to start with the title... The sun visor has two heights available, literally only a 5mm difference but it helps either way, more importantly it comes right down giving coverage for the vast majority of your vision, unlike most which only go around 2/3rds of the way down leaving a gap.
Comes with pin lock and a second tinted visor, tinted around the same as the sun visor is. Pin lock easy enough to fit as well.
The locking feature of the main visor is something I'd rather not have but it's not horrific to unlock and it has the DD lock rings rather than a ratchet which again I prefer these days but I'll get used to it again.
Only gave a 4 star rating over 5 because the sound through my headset isn't as good as it was in my old shark riddell. I believe this is because the scorpion has recesses for the speakers to sit in so they aren't pressed up against my ears in the same way as my shark.
Love the design, I went for the black with red bits in it!
Honestly sounds for wind noise etc is no different to my shark, haven't a clue what the difference is meant to be but I can't say I noticed anyway.
Find it cheaper at any major motorcycle accessory retailer, online or in-store and we‘ll match it.
