Reviews Seduced by a mix of carbon cool and weather-beating practicality, would our reviewer remain under this adventure lid's spell?
The Helmet is very well fitting and comfy,The noise reduction is acceptable and the extras you get in the box are very well received,The helmet bag is good quality and the rucksack type bag is exceptional and looks very well made,The only annoying thing i would say is the peak does seem to have a rattle when riding above certain speeds,It would have been nice if the peak was also carbon but at this price it is a small problem.
Really impressed with the LS2 Explorer Carbon. Feels super light and the value for money is brilliant for a carbon ADV helmet. Comfort and ventilation both seem really good so far too. Only downside is a bit of wind noise at speed, especially with the peak fitted, but that’s pretty expected with this style of helmet. Overall really happy with it.
I m really pleased with this helmet, having only used arai and shoei lids previously I was worried about the quality and performance of this but I m really impressed, the flick down sun visor is a great function and the wind noise is no different although with the peak on it catch a little when looking up which I suppose is be expected. fit is comfortable
Cheaper than its rivals, but in no way feels or looks it. A superb fit and very good, with a plush comfortable liner. I have done several thousand miles now with this helmet and I have zero complaints.
From taking this helmet out of the box and finding it comes in not only a cloth bag, but also it’s very own rucksack, and the pinlock system, and loads of features/vents etc…. You can’t be disappointed. lightweight, looks incredible, very comfy and well made, looks like it costs far more than it does. Extremely happy customer.
I originally bought the pioneer however it wasn’t in stock in the colour that I wanted. I decided that I would spend the extra money on the Explorer and I’m so glad I did.
There isn’t enough room for me to write all of the features that this helmet has. The peak, the comfort, airflow, the drop-down visor, the strong double D loop, the lightness, the flexibility of being able to remove the peak, the general look of the whole thing and the premium feel.
I honestly have found the helmet that is going to be with me for years, and I’ve gone through quite a few recently.
Whether you are going to be going on a tour, want the peak off to look more sporty or are even going to be putting some goggles on and taking this thing off-road you are going to be happy with this helmet.
I read in some reviews that people were having problems fitting the Cardo system, but I’ve got mine in and it only just touches the top of my ears and causes no discomfort.
Bought my first LS2 Carbon - Adventure helmet 3 years ago, and just bought another but a different colour!
Light, very comfortable, loads of air vents, built-in sun visor and the huge height of the main visor is awesome. Peak really useful - low winter sun blocked out, and no buffeting. Wind noise acceptably low. Pinlock included. Highly recommend!
Has everything you need, lightweight and a visor with pin lock included, sun visor ( main reason for buying tbh).
Reassesses for headphones and a removable lining, just as it s sat next to my Arai X4 the shell is noticeably larger and looks big when wearing.
Not that noisy for an adventure helmet, the buckle is ok but hard to put the tab away on the push button fastener.
A really well put together budget helmet that looks good.
This is a great helmet.
Comfortable to wear all day on long rides.
Feels really light with great padding
Good noise reduction.
A nice light helmet with a good set of features somewhat let down by very shallow comms speaker pockets and a slightly poorly thought out liner design when considering spectacle wearers. The arm of your glasses can go under the liner pad making it very uncomfortable indeed. I "fudged" mine with some self adhesive Velcro dots.
In use it's pretty comfortable once the above is sorted ( ?) and is slightly quieter than my arai x5. Oddly there is no ducting to take fresh air from the jaw to the inside of the visor so fogging could be an issue.
On the whole though not a bad helmet at all for the money.
Great helmet, light, good wind noise blanking, drop down sun visor is excellent as is pin lock, great colour design carbon looks great, emergency pull out cheek pads if needed, would recommend this helmet
Nice and tight with lots of support. Design is awesome. Coms kit fits well.
Absolutely top quality lid! Really comfortable right out the box looks and feels fantastic. I'm a medium and it's a perfect fit, really impressed with the luggage bag you get with it too.
I don't get any wind buffeting even at high speed, I do have a screen but I felt it with my old hjc this one seems to cut through the air stream perfectly, the vision is superb and the drop down sunglasses are a nice extra.
I struggle with some helmet brands fitting well. The LS2 Explorer is perfect for me.
Downsides - visor is either closed or fully open (no increments) and my glasses tend to fog in certain areas. I'm sure I'll get that sorted out so overall, very happy with the purchase
As I already own an LS2 Advant, I thought that I'd be loyal to the brand when I bought a helmet for my adventure / trails bike.
The Explorer arrived and although the same size as my Advant it was painfully tight on my head and felt claustrophobic.
The visor system is either up or locked down. There's no in between.
The D rings are a total faff and feel like something that should be on a much cheaper helmet.
All in all I was really disappointed.
Ordered Sunday before 4pm, delivered by 10am on the Monday.
Great helmet, although not as well engineered for accommodating intercom as my old Nexx helmet [rebates for speakers, but nexx had rebate for Sena SMH10R inside as well] I was replacing.
Comfortable and I hope safe helmet, and as it's being replaced with a newer model and absolute bargain as they clear out old stock.
Incredibly light and with great internal cushioning
