RST Ladies Spectre Air D3O Textile Jacket - Silver

I love this jacket. It's so comfortable to wear, nice and soft around the neck, plenty of ventilation/mesh. Good fit too, little zips on the hips keep me feeling feminine and not just wearing a mans down sized jacket.

Really nice summer jacket with excellent airflow and a comfortable fit. The armour stays in place and it's very comfortable on the bike.

Unfortunately, there are a couple of design issues. The side adjustment zips don't close completely and tend to open slightly. They feel like they were added as an afterthought to the women's version rather than being properly integrated. I had two replacement jackets, and two of the three had the same issue. In the end I accepted the third jacket despite the zip problem.

The other issue is the chest protector pockets. RST recommends the D3O Level 2 divided chest protectors for this jacket, but the pockets are too small to fit them properly. I could only just fit one side, while the other simply wouldn't go in. The D3O Ghost Level 1 chest protectors will just about fit, but it's disappointing that the recommended Level 2 protectors are not actually compatible with the jacket.

Overall, it's a great-fitting, well-ventilated jacket that's ideal for summer riding, but the quality control and chest protector compatibility let it down.

Jacket is wonderful, the other half loves it (especially in the current weather!). Just a shame she had chance to browse the shop while I was having my GT Air 3 fitted......
Solo trip next time me thinks.
