Forma Adventure Kite Dry Boots - Black / Black

These are a good pair of shorty boots with plenty of protection and very comfy from the off....only slight niggle is that they can feel a little loose initially, due to the Boa closing system but further wear & adjustment have proved to be the key to a more secure and confidence inspiring fit. Recommended.

Light weight and breathable, comfortable to walk in and tuck them under your jeans of an evening they could pass for trainers. Ideal for warm weather touring!

This doesn't use the real BOA fit system which is why they only give you a 6 month warranty on the lacing system rather than the typical lifetime warranty with BOA. And because of that, the lacing system has aready proven to be rubbish after 2 months, where the right boot had the lacing system sieze up which made it extremelly hard to loosen and tighten.

Thankfully, SBS managed to take the thing apart and untangle the lacing system so I could use it again. But the fact this happened 2 months into using the boots for my commute, and the fact that it only has 6 months warranty, I am going to assume this will happen again and won't hold up for the test of time.

Secondly, the CE rating is very odd. For some reason, the UK version of this boot is rated at 2/1/2/1 WR IPA, but the US version is rated at 1/2/2/2 WR. It's baffing how the exact same boot is rated only a 1 for Height protection for UK sellers whereas the US is a 2 (Shin high). And not sure how the UK version manages an IPA rating but the US doesn't. I tried contacting Forma who didn't respond, and SBS nor Revzilla knew why this discrepancy was a thing. Honestly, makes me doubt the legitimacy of the ratings altogether.

With all that said, these boots are extremely comfortable and stylish enough to wear with casual looking gear. I definitely prefer these over the Klim Outlander GTX boots which I wore daily. But how long these will last is up for debate considering how quick the lacing system failed. The shift pad on the boot could be extended as I've found myself already scuffing up the stitching of the pad but that's been the case with all boots like this unfortunately. Also, walking in these boots make an annoying squeaking/rubbing sound most likely from the lacing system but thankfully I don't use these for walking too much. But all in all, these are great for commuting or casual street riding, I just hope they last longer than my Klim's.

Glad I chose these worth the wait , super comfy and easy on the eyes.
