If it feels like armour in your bike kit then the law demands it is actually proper, protective armour. Here's how to tell how effective your impact protection is...
Haven't worn leathers in years due to having a retro bike and wearing bike jeans/textiles. Currently have sports bike, so decided to buy leathers in view of a tighter fit/better protection and not disappointed. Not only do they look good (not bulky) and pretty comfortable, or will be once stretched! I hope this will help but I'm usually a 34DD and ordered both a size 12 and 14. The 14 was comfortable in this area and waist but the arms were too loose (elbow armour would move on impact) the 12 fits snugly but in no way too restrictive on the bike as plently of stretch panels, just have to pull jacket together with a bit more effort to carefully zip up inner panel and main zip. Once zipped the jacket is comfortable and well fitted. Also matched with 'Lane 2' leather trousers, which are snug on waist but again once secure, so comfortable on and off the bike. The arms are the most comfortable I've ever worn as they have used a lot of material rather than leather, in this area it feels like a light summer jacket.
I really like this jacket, the stretch panels at the side make it very comfortable and easy to manoeuvre around on the bike. I would say maybe order a size up or it might be a little tight. But this means it's not frumpy like some women's jackets can be. The size up still was nicely fitted. But If you like your jacket to be very tight and fitted, then your normal size should do the trick
