Customer Reviews for Oxford Super Muffs - Black
Good product but not for my bike
Made to the usual high quality you'd expect from Oxford, may be just what you're looking for, however I am returning these. They are HUGE and totally obscure the mirrors of my Z1000sx. I commute as much as able so got them for winter, as I do urban, 2 motorways, then country lanes to get to work, by which time my fingers are in agony from the cold (I have thermal gloves). I used these once and whilst I wasn't in pain when I arrived they were still freezing cold and my journey was still uncomfortable. There are gaps on these to allow for brake fluid reservoir etc and they just let some of the cold in. They didn't impinge on any controls - I was worried they might flick the kill switch during my ride, but no problems there. If you want muffs these are a good choice, but I'm gonna bite the bullet and buy some heated gloves instead.

They do the job they are intended for, easy to fit on the bike, it takes few days to ge used to it. Sometimes by steering at very low speed it can swicth your engine off by pushing the red button, nothing too serius.

These are LARGE, be in no doubt. I have both a bike and a small scooter, so bought these with either vehicle in-mind. Too big for my small 110cc scooter but they are ok for the motorbike. I have however seen these fitted to a larger style of scooter, in that case a guy who's used them on a Honda Forza 125 very successfully constantly for 3 years, but I have bought some other smaller ones for my little scooter and kept these for my handle-bared motorcycle. We're talking function over style here, they serve a purpose, much like waterproof over-suits do. Plenty of YouTube videos showing various types and styles. These ones have a rigid stiffener bar built-in that runs around the outside edge from the twist grip end forwards and around the lever (brake / clutch) to hold it open internally at the levers. These ones are waterproof, not all makes/ styles are, if you go out in the rain buy these waterproof ones. ALWAYS road-test muffs somewhere quiet to make sure of no unexpected fitting problems whilst vehicle in-motion. Bare in mind that muffs are universal, but if you're handy with a needle and cotton, extra straps can always be added to suit your individual bike if desired. Sportsbikeshop great price and quick delivery, very happy.

Wishing I got muffs years ago, heated under gloves and summer gloves, brilliant.

My Dad talks to me non stop about his Yamaha Xmax 300cc scooter. This was a compromise trade down from a Honda CBF600. He's nearly 78yrs old by the way so was finding the Honda a little too heavy. So just a couple of weeks ago he was going on about his scooter again and talking about him riding this time of year and unbelievably it hasn't got heated grips! Believe me I know about every conceivable gadget on that bike from our chats, and because of this, the bikes only shortfall. My mate has some on his scooter and as Sports bike shop keep in touch with me and I'd bought from them before I was able to find the muffs on their site. Christmas morning comes and the next thing Dad has disappeared into the shed, even at 78 he gets so excitable. Within 15 minutes they were on! A very easy fit with great access to the bars and switchgear. They look very sturdy and have reflective piping for extra safety. They look good on the scooter and are less cumbersome than they appear in the packaging. No heated grips? No thanks I've got my Muffs, so, dry gloves as well as toasty fingers. Thanks sports bike shop, another successful purchase.

Wow, I wish I bought a pair years ago. OK, they don't look like the coolest accessory. But in UK in the winter these things are awesome. I do have heated grips on my BMW, and with these handlebar muffs on I have to turn the off !
