If it feels like armour in your bike kit then the law demands it is actually proper, protective armour. Here's how to tell how effective your impact protection is...
Good fit from chart
Cool but not cold at motorway speeds Supplied with thermal and waterproof lining that is a bit fiddly to fit,in common with most products of this type. Perfect for warm days I would buy again. Usual excellent SportsbikeShop service.
Perfect pants for the summer but with added waterproof liner for rain.
Best service from any retailer I've ever known
Bought these for the warmer months and a trip to Spain.
As I got these in February I have only worn them with the liner in and they have been warm enough at 6c. Yet to try them in warm conditions but the mesh panels should give good ventilation.
I find the fit and quality
very good, I am a slim 6 feet tall and appreciate the longer leg sizes Revit supply.
As usual excellent service from Sportsbikeshop
The Alpinestars trousers that went with my jacket felt too bulky so tried these Re'vit instead. They're very well made, sepremely comfortable and warm, and a good fit. The only thing of note is that I have had to order the braces as the weight of the trousers pulls them down without. Sportsbikeshop service has been impeccable as always. So easy to order, try on and return items, they're always my first port of call.
OK. Well I've bought it in the winter ready for next summer. But here are my thoughts. I already own a Rev'it laminated jacket & trousers I use for cold / wet days. So I'm already sold on their quality & performance. But I wanted cool trousers for hot summer days. 1. The trousers need to be a light colour. Tick. 2. It needs to have a lot (a lot!) of ventilation. Tick. 3. Well made & a high level of protection. Tick. It's reassuring to have the waterproof / thermal inner liner, but I hope / doubt that I'll use it in the summer. 4. Comes with excellent knee armour and hip protection. Tick. I also purchased the matching jacket with excellent linking system.
Bought for a trip across the Pyrenees. Used during the recent very hot weather in the UK.
These feel like a quality product when worn. They are a comfortable fit, the air travels nicely through them when the liner is removed. I haven't tried them in the rain yet as this isn't the purpose I've bought them for but they should protect if it does start to rain while out and the liner should also be warm enough for Spring and Autumn. I have full GoreTex trousers for the really bad weather as I prefer the water to run off the surface rather than go through the trouser to an internal barrier as you can just shake the trouser dry with GoreTex.
The zips in these are a good length on the legs. Pretty chuffed with them to say the least.
I bought the trousers to go with the Levante 2 H2) jacket, which they complement perfectly. Like the jacket, quality and fit are good and they allow plenty of airflow. I haven't yet tried them in the rain. The quilted liner is more heavily insulated than the one in the jacket and too warm for most summer days; a pair of lightweight overtrousers might be a better option. It should be good for cooler/autumn use.
Baught these from Sportsbikeshop just before the temperature really hit the highs in July this year. Worn them in 40°c and they do what they should... kept me cooler.
Nice comfy and light. Typical Revit clothing, up to a good standard at a slightly lower price than the expensive brands.
Hopefully don't need to try out the waterproof liners.
The Rev'it Tornado 3 trousers are prepared for almost every kind of weather condition during rides in the spring, summer, or fall. The detachable hydratex / Lite 2-in-1 liner will keep the rider dry and warm in colder temperatures and bad weather. When riding in higher temperatures, the liner can be removed to allow cool air to flow through the PWR/shell mesh panels at the upper and lower legs. Protection is ensured by our award-winning CE-level 2 SEEFLEX™ armour at the knees and SEESMART™ protectors at the hips. The rider can also easily adjust the fit of the trousers via adjustment straps at the hips and tabs on the calves.
