Advice & Guides Advice: How to make sure your helmet fits correctly
You'd be surprised how many riders wear a helmet that's too big for them. Here's how to tell if a lid really fits you...

So I purchased this helmet to replace my ageing Caberg Duke, and I must say, this helmet lived up to the reputation my Duke had instilled in me as a commuter helmet. As a glasses wearer, having a flip helmet means I can place my glasses on properly, something I've struggled with on non flip helmets (2 HJC, 2 Shark and a Nitro)
Pros
- Quite light for a flip helmet
- Good for glasses wearers
- Nice Styling
- Visor wide for better visibility
- Sun Visor very good
- Comes with PinLock
Cons
- Noisy at speed (I'm yet to find a flip helmet that isn't)
- Tight fit, even on the large, the forehead inner needs softening, a long ride causes some discomfort, but this may bed in over time.
Summary
Overall a good helmet for the price, and great for commuting. The build quality is good and the helmet feels firm and stable, something often missed by flip helmets. If the helmet does bed in over time, could also become good for longer journeys, but in the meantime, 2 hours continuous wearing is defintely my limit.
Excellent service from SBS.as usual.Good fit and fantastic vision from the large visor especially when wearing giasses.noisier than my other helmets. There was no ECE-22 label on this helmet, but a phone call assured me it was compliant
I bought the Horus as an upgrade from the Duke 2. The Duke was my first helmet after many years off the road and now I'd wished I had spent a few pounds more. Don't get me wrong, the Duke 2 is a great helmet. 5 start rated by sharp. But the Horus, has better vents, better fit and the view from the larger visor is fantastic. The sun visor mechanism in my opinion is in a better place. Everything is easily worked with gloves on and the vents are effortless to work. The helmet feels tight but in time that should improve and even though it's a modular helmet, very little wind gets in at the joints, unlike the Duke which I find gets a bit drafty. Great buy, great price and great design.
Delivered on time and fits perfectly with a really wide vision.
Tested for 2000miles so far.Nice comfy lid, larger visor like having Widescreen compared to some. Even though there's Rain channels above the visor, can still get a few drops of water inside but much better than some lids. Comms fairly easy to fit, although there's no cutouts for the speaker wires etc like my AGV has.
Top service as always from Sportsbikeshop
I measured slap bang in the middle of a medium. So thats what I ordered. Super fast delivery. Tried it on and it felt a bit loose initially. Decided to stick with it. Four rides later and its perfect size. Biggest thing you notice is the size of the visor, or in other words the amount you see through it. Having had an old Premier previously, the opening is huge. you hardly notice the sides of the helmet. Airflow is good. Does steam up when stationary but the pinlock, when I fit it, should sort that. Very comfortable but feels large on the head. Maybe just me not used to new helmets. Flip up works well and is easy to do. Good choice if you are in the market.
