If it feels like armour in your bike kit then the law demands it is actually proper, protective armour. Here's how to tell how effective your impact protection is...
Bought as part of suit to go with matching jacket. I take a large in most things. These needed to be 2XL to fit (same with jacket). That said what I now have fits perfectly. They really are weatherproof - dry in rain, warm when it's cold and enough ventilation for that hot day. Tested from new on a trip to Germany and they worked really well, I didn't get wet once.
The liner keeps you warm but it's that stuff that sticks to tacky skin when you take them off - so I took to wearing a base layer - and then, except when it was really cold, didn't need the liner..... heyho.
They look good as part of the suit but with the adjustment and the braces are quite comfortable to walk around in with or without the jacket.
Great fit, plenty of options for different weather. Rode in the wet and in the heat. Vents work nicely. Only downside is the fly, the material behind it prevents access to the essential equipment when stopping for a natural emergency, so you need to disrobe quite substantially. I am sure passing motorists are entertained by this.
Great trousers but sizing is rubbish
Bought these to wear green laning, a bit more expensive than I wanted to pay as the item I wanted was out of stock. I was looking for textile trousers without armour as I wear body armour anyway. As it happens I took the armour out, and they are a good fit. Vents work really well, the brace strap is a nice touch although I can't use it with my chest armour. If theses clean up ok I think I'll put the armour back in and use them on my road bike as well. Very nice item and quality made.
These are great quality riding trousers! I bought them for a touring holiday of Wales - so glad I did.
Day 1 saw TORRENTIAL rain all day - these didn't let in a single drop! Very impressed.
Later we had temperatures in the mid-20's. The venting system worked exceptionally well, with good airflow and a refreshing breeze running through. Overall I would highly recommend.
This offers all the protection you need and it fits the hips like a glove, I'll advise you to get a size bigger, and be patient putting it on, because it fits the waist and hips quite tightly, but once it's on it is mega. The thermal lining so smooth and also feels fantastic and will probably protect you from even a blizzard, which is what you want from bike gear. Nice little pocket on the thigh for a wallet and a phone. Water proof zips as well. Perfect.
I've bought a few items from this French company now. Jackets, gloves and now trousers. Always found them to be fantastic quality at a reasonable price. Braces are so useful, and removable if required. Very technical piece of clothing. I don't use the thermal lining. I prefer to use DXR thermals. Very comfortable and waterproof so far. Matched to the Furygan Apalaches Jacket.
