Racing improves the breed, they say. It’s definitely the case for boots - here are five picks for that tough challenge…
Customers praise these boots for their exceptional comfort and fantastic quality. They highlight the boots’ sturdy construction and excellent fit, though a few found the initial fitting process cumbersome. The boots are noted for their superb design, safety features, and the blend of flexibility and protection they offer. Customers particularly appreciate the boots’ comfortable feel similar to slippers, along with their impressive fit for various foot sizes. Overall, the boots receive high recommendations for comfort and quality.
I purchased a pair of Gortex boots which are a bit more stiffer so I returned them and purchased a pair of Alpinestars supertech R boots. I previously had a print of the original Supertrch R boots which I have had for 20 yrs +. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. These boots are superb in every way and super comfy and they make you feel like you are protected. I highly recommend Alpinestars the brand and especially these boots.
I bought these for the track but have been wearing them while road-riding to get used to them, and they’re super comfortable. My go-to boots are a pair of Rev'it Pioneer Outdry ankle boots, which are comfortable and offer more movement, so I’ve noticed a considerable difference in the feel of the bike's controls. I’ve only been on a few rides, so it’s early days. Still, I can definitely say the AlpineStars are easy to get on and off with the inner boot, fasten up without a struggle, are true to size, feel very comfortable on and off the bike and look amazing. I’ve not experienced any numbness or discomfort, just adjusting to the new feel of peg and boot positioning when riding. And the usual seamless ordering and return/refund process with SBS, as always. Highly recommend,
Excellent quality, comfortable from day one,
one thing worth mentioning, I read reviews and lots recommended going down one size, certainly wasn't the case for me and friends of mine that also have them. They are true to size, as sportsbikeshop rightly state.
Don't get these if you're just riding on the road! There are a few cons I've noticed with the Supertechs compared to my SMX-6 V2s based on some spirited road riding in the country (which these aren't primarily designed for). Firstly, the Supertechs score a 1 in the Transverse Rigidity CE rating, compared to a 2 (superior pass) with the SMX-6 V2s (Level 1 passes at 1kN-1.4kN and Level 2 passes at 1.5kN or more during sole compression test to mimic a bike falling on your foot). They both went through the same testing standard EN 13634:2017 so this is likely due to the 2 layer construction with the inner sole and outer boot and the fact that racing boots require more flexibility for feel and performance. Secondly, the vibrations that pass through from the bike to my foot are so bad with the Supertechs that my toes go numb within an hour of intense riding. I find myself having to adjust my foot constantly on the pegs to mitigate the numbness. I don't get this at all with my SMX-6 V2s which is odd, because the SMX-6 have a more rigid sole which you would think transfers more vibrations compared to a more flexible sole in the Supertech R's, but this is not the case. Honestly, if you don't care about the looks of the SMX-6's and you do more road riding than track, you're better of getting those than spending money on the Supertech Rs, especially if you're worried about the vibrations and slightly worser transverse rigidity protection. Not to mention, it takes a bit more faffing around to get the inner soles and outer boot on and secured than it is to do up the velcro and zip on the SMX-6's (which is not a problem if you're getting suited and booted for a day on the track). So if you don't plan on racing on the track, then do not buy these boots!
Got my partner these for his birthday, perfect fit and best for comfort too, with a bonus of looking look ! Worth the price by miles
Amazing boots, the inner boot provides added comfort, it’s also a perfect fit and very comfortable when riding in all conditions. I’m a size 42, for reference.
They do exactly as you'd expect. The inner boots supports the ankle brilliantly. They are comfortable and look awesome.
I have the older version and these have some good upgrades compared to those.
I did try on many other boots but these are by far the comfiest boots out there (plus they fit my calves) so well worth paying the extra.
Great service from SBS and the delivery service gave you a delivery window by text which is very handy.
As expected with alpinestars the quality of the boot is first class, the fit is comfortable but secure, great support but flexible enough to move as needed. Highly recommended
This is the second pair I have had, they are the only boots I have tried wide enough for me. The red is very bright!
I'm a size 10 uk. Old boots a size 44 and a bit snug. Asked advice from sportsbikeshop who said size 45. Fit perfect comfy out of the box.
Although I didn't buy the boots for me, I am reliably informed by the new owner that they are comfortable, and that he loves them.
My third pair of these boots, robust quality and super comfortable and suitable for any use .
Top notch boots that fit well, probably the best boots I have ever had
Great product and top notch service from sportbikeshop
These boots are fantastic quality, really comfortable straight away top quality. Best boots I've ever had, don't skimp on your kit Folkes, it's all we have between us and the road.
Feels like wearing trainers. The quality you would expect from Alpinestars.
Sportbikeshop are always in top gear & as for Alpinestars Supertech R boots, the best in my opinion!!!!!
