If it feels like armour in your bike kit then the law demands it is actually proper, protective armour. Here's how to tell how effective your impact protection is...
Ive searched for a while for some pants that fit just how I wanted - these are the ones
It's a great quality product, it's very comfortable, the seams are better than I expected. I bought 2 of these types of trousers and I'm very satisfied, thank you sportsbikeshop
I expected a lot more considering the price. These are for light rain only as they not entirely waterproof. Anything more than 10mins in the rain I find my base layers are always wet particularly around the seat area.
Comfy, waterproof and great for summer riding
Very good movement in these trousers, great for getting on and off dual sport/tall bikes.
Only downside is slightly tight zips around ankles.
First of all, these look absolutely amazing. Of course looks are subjective but if you like the look of these online you'll probably be more than happy with how they look in real life. I've had many people compliment them already. As for the technical aspects of the trousers, these are absolutely fantastic. They are unbelievably easy to move around in. They are so flexible that I can do jiu jitsu in them without any real issues. They are a tad hot in hotter weather, I found them to be too warm when the temperature was about around 18 degrees. But that's only off the bike. On the bike, they're much better because they have vents which work really well. I have them open all the time. I haven't had a chance to test the waterproofing, but the liner is all throughout the trousers and all of the zips are waterproof so I would be very confident that they'd be excellent in the rain. I've thankfully not had to crash test it either, but the knee armour is very good. Similar to Revit seesmart but slightly more breathable. I am 5'8, have a 28 inch (ish) waist and weigh around 10 stone and got a size small. The waist is accomodating for a much bigger size, maybe up to 32 inches as a guess. But it has a drawstring to sinch it to your body so it fits however you want it to. There are adjusters on the calves to change how tight they are and they are elasticated at the bottom so they fit snugly to your ankles. There are also zips at the ankles so they can flare out if you'd rather have them over the top of your boots rather than inside. If you want to get hip armour for them, be careful about the sizing. I bought the hip armour in the "men's" size and it was too big for the pockets so check the alpinestars fitting guide to get the right size. Otherwise, I have only one minor complaint which is that these trousers make a lot of noise when you move. But that's the same as most cargo trousers so it's not much of an issue for me. Can not recommend them enough.
