Excellent product

I am usually between a large and XL in most jackets. With this one the XL is spot on with the liner installed. I am 6’1, 210lbs for reference. It will be perfect for summer riding. Love the style and the quality materials.

I have only worn this once but in cold conditions and it was plenty warm enough for me with the thermal insert. With the insert removed, I feel it might need a belt around the midriff to take up the slack though this is a short jacket. I like the adjustable bands across the arms and pockets. Overall, the jacket is well designed and good looking in my opinion. Got mine for a reduced price and I feel it was very well worth it. Of course, this is not a long term review which in the end is the only one that really counts. Only for that reason I give 4 and not 5 stars.

Fantastic quality and comfortable. The liners can be removed for the summer leaving the mesh panel outer jacket to allow the air through. It has lots of pockets and looks great with a pair of jeans on my T120 or Adventure bike.

I love the classic looks and the endless practicality of the Chigwell. Well done Merlin.

Well made with lots of storage in the pockets and very good air flow. Haven't tried it with thermal because it's hot now. Sizing chart works well

As usual SBS did a great job getting the jacket in store within 2 days, and when I saw it I loved the look. It fitted really well as I do have a bit of a belly, and the arms were not too long. The surprise was when I decided to wear it home without the liner as it was a reasonably warm day. SBS couriered the coat that arrived in home FOC. The airflow was superb, not having worn a mesh jacket before it was a great feeling and as I am out this weekend I will be wearing it again. All round great service and a great jacket.

The jacket sizing is spot on for me, the arms are a great length and the cuffs big enough to wear longer gloves and tuck in.

The thermal liner works well for me, I run pretty warm anyway and I found it just right with a HH base layer, outside air temp 2c. Removing the liner is ease and the vents looks ideal for warmer rides.

The belt connector is elasticated but I've used the included zip to make a stronger belt connector.

The armour sits nicely and has a good shape. The elbow armour is held nicely in place by the adjuster on the arms.

Unlike other back armour, I don't end up with an overly sweaty back with this jacket/armour combo either.

The materials used feel premium and all finished nicely, the zips and poppers feel strong and quality too.

Really happy with this purchase It's well put together with quality materials used. Would recommend as a versatile sumer autumn jacket topped with a retro nice feel and fit . Saving up now for the matching trousers.

The Chigwell jacket is a great all round jacket. Ideal and comfortable without the liner on a sunny day and equally capable in wet weather with the zip in liner. The fit is good for the average man. I am a 44" chest & 34" waist and the large is great. The jacket looks smart and oozes quality. The collar is a little snug with the liner in but I'm sure it will soften in time.

I wanted the retro look with modern materials and protection and the jacket is spot on for that and being able to take liner out makes it great for hot days.
In sizing, I would go one down if you like a tighter fit.
It's well made and quality, better than some far more expensive kit
