Advice & Guides Every time you put your hand in a glove, it should be passing the CE label that shows it's been tested as protective kit. We'll show you how to understand what it's telling you...
Customers praise these gloves for warmth, comfort, and good build quality, with several noting they fit well once sized up. They are described as flexible, easy to wear, and suitable for colder rides, though a few customers mention stiffness at first. The main criticism is sizing, especially overly long thumbs. Waterproof performance is mixed, with some customers staying dry while others report getting soaked.
The Oxford Montreal 4.0 gloves feel very solid and high quality, with great protection and comfort for all-weather riding. They are a bit stiff at first, but after some use they break in nicely and become really comfortable!
Good price, feels good quality. Waterproof, kept fingers from freezing in mid-winter (though assisted by heated grips...)
Gloves are well made and warm enough for spring and summer but might not be up to early morning winter rides. The sizing stated in the size guide is completely misleading. I measured my hands, ordered the gloves that were recommended but had to send them back and get the next size up which are still a bit tight but I can't be bothered to send them back again! Make sure you size up at least one size, maybe two.
Straight from the pack these gloves are fairly supple and will no doubt get even better with use.
Great price in a sale. To get the fit for my slightly wide hands I went up a size which means the thumbs are a little longer than I would like but that is my only criticism. Great product yet to be tested in the rain but no concerns there.
Really warm and comfortable gloves, haven't been caught in the rain yet but didn't get wind chill at all. Saw a review about it's difficult to get the second glove over your jacket - it is a bit fiddly for like the first 2 times then wasn't an issue at all. No issues with controls either (on a 1982 Kawasaki CSR so not like I have screens to flick through etc but still)
The gloves are warm enough for morning and late evening rides when the temperature drops.
Not tested in wet weather yet, look good for colder weather. Fingers curved but suspect due to stiffness will be tiring on longer journeys. Time will tell if they loosen up
Bought these gloves based on style - large enough cuff to fit over my jacket, and because of the visor wipe blade. Although they're quite bulky, the feel onto the handlebars is good, no strain to bend your fingers around the grip. Felt very warm on a cold ride, didn't need my heated grips but when tested i could still feel the heat coming through. Haven't used them in the rain but they seem well made. Excellent gloves at a bargain price.
Bought during a winter ride through Scotland, made the rest of the trip much more comfortable.
Hands do get cold eventually, but these allow much longer riding before that happens. Very reasonable price, good quality.
A little bulkier than summer gloves, as you would expect, so take a little getting used to finding and using controls with them on!
I bought these MAINLY to keep my hands DRY but as yet haven't been riding in the rain wearing these yet but that will likely change as I'm heading over to Scotland in 10 days...
I usually buy a size Large and did so on this occasion too but some may consider the sizing too snug, so maybe size up...
As these were previously reviewed as a good winter glove with Thinsulate lining, I expected them to keep my hands warm too.
I wore them for the first time on a Friday at 6am on the bike going to work. I had my heated grips on full (on my BMW R1200rs without hand guards to shield my fingers from the wind)
Temperature always between -2° and +0.5° so it was cold and the gloves definitely didn't keep the back of my fingers warm, decidedly cold to be honest after my 20 mile commute.
That said IF they are WATERPROOF, I'll be happy as they are actually a nice fighting glove with good adjustment around the cuff to help get a tight fit. Takes a bit of getting used to the velcro strap and cuff adjusters but they work well and allow the gloves to be situated either over or under the jacket sleeve. There is a nice touch where there is a flap where the end of the velcro strap can be tucked to avoid it catching on the sleeve (or anything else for that matter) and means You feel confident that it will not come loose or grip anything else.
I definitely think they look good, have protection where I want it and that there is good feel through the fingers (although I have neither tried the finger visor wipe nor used a touchscreen so I can't comment on their performance in those scores).
I am happy with my purchase and think they are good overall value, I just maybe expected or hoped for a little more insulation...
Oxford products are usually durable and provide longevity and I see no reason to expect this product to be any different...
Fantastic gloves and service from sportsbikeshop.co.uk
Perfect fit. Great quality.
Great price and usual Oxford quality
They are great for the money, a bit fiddly at times.
I wore these for a funeral escort for roughly 30 mins. They are warm and comfortable but at the end of the ride I was wringing them out like a wet flannel, most definitely not waterproof.
This gloves works much much better than the usb hot gloves. This is not a heated gloves but it works just the same. I wore it for 2 hours and its perfect.
