The label inside your boots will tell you about what tests they've gone through, and how they did. Here's how to decipher those labels for yourself...
Great pair of boots, ideal for touring or short rides. At first I thought they were going to be too stiff but after a couple of weekend rides away they are now very comfortable.
First of all, I'd just like to say that Sportbikeshop have been absolutely excellent (and patient!) with their service, letting me order and try a few different boots from their expansive range to find the best fit.
I ended up settling with these Stylmartins, which I have to say I'm happy with in terms of comfort and function and which IMO look v good in person. I've now ridden with them in pretty relentless rain and taken them on a 5-6 mile walk through a woodland trail, as well as wearing them for day-to-day commuting and walking about town, and I can confirm that they are both waterproof and very comfortable to live in.
However, for this price point, I was really disappointed to see that their CE certification rating is only '2111', with the '2' just relating to the (above ankle) height of the boot. Ofc price can't be taken as an indicator of safety, but I really feel that when paying this much for boots, you should be able to expect a higher rating along at least some of the metrics tested - as is indeed the case with other Stylmartin boots at this price level, which have better ratings.
