RST Alpha 5 RL CE Textile Trousers - Black / Black

Well here s my review of the RST Alpha 5 RL CE Textile Trousers. Where to start, brilliant price for the quality. Water and wind proof with waterproof pockets, you re able to tighten the waist and ankles to your desired fit. It s fitted with CE amour in the knees with pockets if you wanted to buy hip armour. I ve not tried how warm the trousers is due to buying it at the start of summer, but I do have to say I ve removed the thermal liner as the trousers don t have any vents and they are incredibly warm. Coming from leather trousers they are much lighter and more flexible. I m returning to bike s after twenty years away I needed some new kit. With Sportsbikeshop just up the road it was a no brainer.

Having worn these for a couple of weeks now they are nice a comfortable, the opening on the pockets fold over and Velcro down so haven’t any water get in them. The trouser themselves have kept me dry in normal rain, I haven’t used them in heavy rain yet. I got them with the matching jacket so they zip together nicely. Very good for the price.

Really helpful and friendly staff at Sports Bike Shop, kitted me out with my first riding gear showing me the ropes. Comfortable and adjustable offering the highest quality ride, easy to clean and maintain.

Honestly.. I was a bit sceptical due to the budget pricing. But don't be fooled by the price. Did my CBT forward my DAS and have been blessed with terestial rain all day.My second hand jacket didn't last hour ride without wet sleeves.Trusers have been nice and dry, warm as well for Scottish temperatures. Positive part that the liner is fully removable and washable.

I found the trousers a good fit over my jeans and boots, although they are snug. Trousers are warm, I haven't tried them in the rain yet.

Bought this with the jacket for my daily commute. Lightweight and easy to chuck on and off over my work clothes and has kept me warm on those colder mornings!

Slightly bigger than size...but is really good trousers to start with...it kept me warm and also connects to my Rst s-1 textile riding jacket... never got to test it in the rain yet thankfully but it's pretty good so far...

Good , true to size .. fits snuggly over my work trousers. I like the extra length, I'm 6ft 1 inches and the knees protectors are in the right place. Fits nicely over my boots and don't ride up over short adventure boots. Nice adjustment for waist. Not tried in the rain yet but happy with them.

As title says, these are great trousers. A bit on the thick side, even with linen off, so if you ride in the summer, youll be warm. No vents fitted. Otherwise, I love these. Im tall, 6.6 ft, so I always had an issue with pants lifting above my boot line, and because I leave my bike outside overnight, in the morning when I set off the seat is wet, used to always get a wet crouch. Not with these. No exposed calf, no wet nickers. Good large pockets, sealed tight. I bought them a size bigger in waist and they still adjust enough so i can walk without them falling. Comfy, warm and dry, that is what i bought them for, that is what i got. And a good discount when purchased. I would have given it 6 stars.

Fantastic SBS service again. Arrived promptly. Very comfy trousers worn in pouring rain, dry as a bone.

These trousers fit nicely and are well featured, plenty of pockets that are easy enough to access, great leg bottoms that help to give a good fit over boots, and secure waist fastening. However, I can only give them an overall score of 2. The reason for the low score is that they are very sweaty if you get off the bike and walk around - or even sit in the pub having a drink. There appears to be zero breathability when wearing them off the bike. Whilst riding they're great, but I want to be comfortable both on and off the bike. I realise they're not goretex and are priced accordingly, but they are really horrible to wear off the bike. I will probably wear them only if I am going from AtoB. It's a real shame, because other than that I'd be giving them a solid 4 star review.

Top quality trousers with a great zipped in, detachable inner lining for warmer rides out. Also great to be able to zip them to my RST jacket too.

This is my second pair of RST Textile Trousers they fit keep you dry and warm and i love the pockets

When using them in hot humid weather they seemed to stick to my legs making them uncomfortable to wear without a base layer underneath. Something none of my other pairs of RST trousers have suffered from. But overall good for the price.
